Hobbies - Ridicule My Music Collection
-
Not long ago I was asked this question When I showed that I only had 175 XP in the 8th inning (that was my final tally for that inning)
Wow, good for you, dude.
Are you playing something else, or just doing other things?
So I thought I would share a little and open up myself to ridicule because, to be honest, some of my choices even leave me thinking "WTF was I thinking". This is what I spent a ton of time on last week.
30 years ago, I logged my music selection and typed it all up. I ended up with 22 pages of typed notes. I wondered if I could get ChatGPT to read the images and turn them into a Spreadsheet

It did that like a champ so I decided to keep going. There were lots of CD purchases since 1996 that I never logged. But I did rip them all to digital format. So I had AI create an app to scan the "My Cds" directory on my computer and log all of those albums in the spreadsheet.
Done.
What Next? I thought that it would be cool to have that entire catalog as a website with track listings, band members, and even Spotify links for albums where they existed. I could fully search and filter it as well. This took AI a lot of time (and usage tokens) and a few false starts to fully research and log everythng into the spreadsheet. But, once that was done, I was able to prompt it to create a website and ended up with a very nice website where I can now view my collection from any web browser and click a link to listen to some of the albums.
50 years of music purchases in one link

So, Larry Carlton - Kid Charlemagne or Help Me? Ha ha. I wonder if he’s also playing the lead on New Frontier as well? Best tone ever.

@PapaRick68_MLBTS with 7 solo Larry Carlton cds I can't pick a single track
-
I think I told you I was only rhythm but I occasionally tried to learn the lead parts on a few songs and his version of Sleepwalk was one.

I'll be honest, maybe it is a mellower side of me or a love of acoustic guitar, but I am particularly a fan of the Alone/But Never Alone CD

@Dolenz_PSN Thanks, I’ll check it out.
