Weekend Classic Cards = Your First Look at 2026 Finest Cards
-
Inage Captured from a short video whose primary purpose seemed to be chowing off the slight sparkle/glitter effect the cards have.

-
I am wondering if people think Bryan Reynolds is warranted to have a finest card or do they think they put him in because of being a fan favorite switch hitting bat? I could go either way. His WAR is pretty good for a guy who’s average to below average in the field

Tough call. There are two other guys on the team that had better averages and more HRS (O'Neil Cruz and Ryan O'Hearn). Reynolds did lead the entire league in Doubles though.
My final verdict? It is because he is a fan favorite switch hitter. Ryan O'Hearn seems to have been the obvious choice. I would have said Brandon Lowe but he got a 99 last month.
But it will probably be like last year when some teams get multiple cards and other teams are stuck with a single card.
-
Or as I saw in another post somewhere, it's time for Reynolds to get his yearly Mickey Mantle reskin
-
Card art is great as always. I still think 2025 is my recent favorite though, but biased because of how many Mariners there were.

I'm guessing "the latter".
I love the Pirates, and I love Bryan, but "Finest"? He did play all 162 games.
Brandon Lowe got a 99 Spotlight in September, but he would have been my first choice.
-
He is picked for two major reasons...
Luckily for him, he has a great swing in the game and
He is a switch hitterWith most of the focus being on the fact that He is a switch hitter
Did I mention, he is a switch hitter.... because that's all that matters this year
-
Reynolds had a high WAR, but WAR rewards having a decent walk rate which is absolutely meaningless to DD stats. Still, he probably deserves it more than O'Hearn and Cruz. And Lowe has a 99. You could make a case for Montgomery but he has a high diamond too.
-
Also sucks that I can't even earn my team's Finest. Have to buy it. I hate this model so much.

It doubt it is the only finest the team gets. Last year all but 9 teams got multiples, with some getting 5 or 6

Theres a Chase Juan Soto - but Im not sure why youd want it...no speed and cant field...so youre forced to DH him (and you have SO many options at DH, many of them switch hitting options)
-
That sucks, because I love Soto's swing. I havs Santander at DH, I don't want to move off of him, he's way too good.
-
Use him on offline modes where those don't matter. Were they supposed to give him 99 fielding and speed?
Geez, I just looked at the attributes. Hitting attributes are great!
I am glad I don't play competitive online so I can use these sub par cards with hitting attributes just a tad behind Ted Williams.
Ted is the better option though, based on attributes. But when are choices bad things

I have been playing more ranked games lately I am around 500 rating maybe a little bit less. I don't think it's too terrible simce I only use directional hitting. Just doing it to get.some of the multi-player rewards. I'm gonna try to grab some wins in the Weekend Classic this weekend.... going to go for six wins but will be happy with half that.
