Cy Young

He can't have been that good.
He never won a single Cy Young Award./s
-
I’d like it for Sox tt.
-
@victoryphoenix_PSN Thank you!
-
@virusts_PSN I think it's more old pitchers don't fit the meta, so they aren't used enough in SDS's eyes to continue paying for rights
-
Ty Cobb, Christy Mathewson, Walter Johnson all get ZERO respect from SDS. Honus Wagner and Babe Ruth are the only inaugural HOF class members they have in the game.
There is no way the rights to these players are that expensive ALL spare me the BS that Cobb isn’t in because of “racial” reasons. That’s been debunked for YEARS!
-
@NWOStunna_PSN Walter cards used to shove.

An event that occurred in the twin cities really screwed up things for everyone. They made Rhode Island change their name even though I didn't know they had "plantations" in it.

@eatyum_PSN
Some of were used a lot like Walter Johnson. Better than having Jeff Suppan who honestly was just an innings eater and played a long time. 4.70 career era. I don’t think he went to an all-star game either. -
Walter Johnson, Matthewson, and Grove are HUGE omissions.
It really stinks that games cant teach baseball history well without having to track down and pay a bunch of estates.
There should be some exceptions where you can use a name and stats, just not the 3d image of a player. Like, this is all info anyone can get on Wikipedia.

They probably could if they wanted to as long as they don't use their likeness.
Out of the Park Baseball has everyone. The entire history of MLB is available in standard franchise style game modes. But their generated images of a player will not look like that player. It is less of a problem though because it is a simulation game with limited graphics.
Their Perfect Team mode (which I consider to be Pay to Win) has older cards but they don't worry about using the actual cards with the player likenesses. They simply make up generic cards.

There’s just so many fascinating early legends that cannot cost much to bring into the game- and clearly has many fans to cater to- but, fewer appear within the game. This is especially true for the pitchers. I really didn’t plan to buy the game this year. But, I feel they did a good job introducing new legends, including Campy that I had beat the drum for. We’ll see about next year.

I think we'd all be fine with them just using a generic player figure instead of a likeness....like, who cares that the guy doesnt look like Lefty Grove? And they couldnt use any signature "moves" - like if someone had a distinctive pitching motion or batting stance.
But, they should just be able to use "generic guy who is a contact hitter" or "generic pitcher that throws a primary curveball"
