Chapman showdown

100% agree. Gatekeeping cards is the most ridiculous thing ever. Anybody in favor of it needs to find something besides a video game to build up their ego.

I don’t like that when a pitcher reaches a milestone they make it a showdown, why can’t they at least let some be attainable through a regular player program?Showdown was ruined when they messed with the strike zone in my opinion.
I also don’t know why people care if other players who paid for the game get the cards they want. If you think Showdown is easy, then if I ever faced you, it doesn’t matter what cards I have because you are a better player. -

Because they desperately want to feel superior, it gives them some weird validation in life.

Everything besides those exclusive gold cards should either be grindable by anyone or available off the market. I used to always buy the flawless rewards. Some of those cards were my favorites and I had 0 desire to even try to go flawless.

Dosent seem like Chapman is getting a showdown, so you all will be happy he’s buyable when he gets the Bryce Harper treatment and is the next milestone Chase card 🫡
-
Pretty sure none of us said this. Obviously it struck a nerve with you to make that statement though. We were simply stating a player program not attached to a no sell showdown would be the way to go.
If SDS can make money off it they probably will but Gatekeeping cards for elite players is never a good idea. It excludes the majority in favor of the minority.
As Dolenz stated, if you are great at the game you already have a massive advantage over the average player and will get cards quicker and make more stubs. Not sure why you need the card to be unobtainable for other players on top of all that.
-
I don’t need it to be unobtainable, I just like a challenge. And I think most everyone could do it if they actually tried, it’s not that hard. Unobtainable seems like a gross emotional overstatement. I’m fine with them doing both and making it challenging and allowing him to be sold also. Maybe make a foil variant for the people who beat it and kept him and a regular one if you trade him in and sell him. That seems like a reasonable middle ground. But as I said , the showdown would have likely happened already so I would think he’s going to be harder to obtain for everyone now, at least stub value wise.

It’s clear some of yall have been handled with kid gloves all your life’s lol. There is nothing wrong with an exclusive reward. They do it in almost every game. Then again the is a soft fanbase that will always find something to hate.

The Show has already shown it can do difficult content that doesnt shut doors for others. The extreme moments. The miniseasons high difficulty missions. This is how you handle high difficulty content.
And gatekeeping is toxic behavior. I will never understand why people do this.
-
You are assuming most people can beat a showdown on hall of fame difficulty when many complain about the ones on veteran being too difficult?
Just saying it’s not as easy as you think even if people push themselves. The other side of this is that a lot of players don’t play to be challenged we play to unwind as we have demanding lives outside the game.
In the end we all pay the same price for the game.
