How is the Community Market feeling? (6)

@Manu__SDS_MLBTS thank you Manu! The app has worked fantastically tonight and you can tell the difference with the marketplace margins. I had a couple of error messages earlier today but after signing out and back in that cleared them. Appreciate all you do!

I granted you a PASS, you should be good.
You have logged 13 consecutive (?) reCAPTCHA failures today... -
I googled how to improve recaptcha score. Turn off VPNs - dont have one on my phone. Sign into a Google account - I am. Use standard browsers - using the default that came on my Galaxy s21 ultra. Allow natural interaction - I do. Update your device - it is. Not sure what you want us to do man. Banning people from the marketplace for placing a single order is dumb and has nothing to do with "fairness"
-
Just tried to sell one common card for 11 stubs, banned. What fairness are we protecting?

I have a question about what you consider normal Marketplace usage for a legitimate human flipper. How frequently should a normal player actually be able to use the Marketplace for buying and selling?
I actually only ran into this because I saw your post about testing the new Marketplace filter and wanted to see whether I would be affected.
I hadn't done any flipping or Marketplace transactions for three days, so I simply found a random bronze card and placed a 25-Stubs buy order as a test. That very first order resulted in a 10-minute cooldown.
That's what concerns me. I wasn't doing any high-frequency activity or anything remotely resembling bot-level behavior — I was literally just testing the Marketplace with a single 25-Stubs order.
So what level of Marketplace activity do you actually consider normal for a legitimate human flipper?
I'm not asking for unlimited transactions or bot-level activity. I understand the need to fight bots, but there needs to be a reasonable level of access for legitimate players who use the Marketplace regularly.
The problem is that restrictions like this don't really stop me from flipping — they just push me back to the console. And the console doesn't even have the same Favorites functionality that makes the App useful for managing the cards I'm interested in.
If this level of restriction is truly necessary, then I think the console Marketplace needs to be improved accordingly. The web Marketplace has already become much less practical for flipping after the reCAPTCHA frequency was increased. I've been using the Marketplace for years, and I've seen firsthand how much that change affected the experience, and now the App is becoming increasingly difficult to use as well. If the App and web versions are going to restrict how frequently legitimate players can use the Marketplace, then the console should at least provide the same basic tools and convenience.
Otherwise, it feels like every Marketplace option is gradually becoming more restrictive rather than simply addressing the bot problem. I really hope the goal is to stop automation without limiting how legitimate players are allowed to use the Marketplace.

Hi. Should I be receiving recaptcha challenges? I am not. And haven't been able to sell one card from the app since this went into effect. I just tried again after about 8 hours and it put me in a cool down on my first attempt.
Device:
Galaxy S24 ultra
I have google accounts on here
I use chrome 99% of the time to browse the web
No VPNIt says "verification request cannot be completed..."
-
@JimmyJamRHC_MLBTS same here. This is unreal.
-
Tried again this morning literally banned for canceling a pending sell order, like are we doing man.
-
Good morning: I have not been able to get post or sell any items after a few this morning. The marketplace looks good but I am getting the captcha cooldown now. I have logged out of my IOS device and back in and still have the error.
-
@manu__sds_mlbts Went just now to quick sell a dup and received a quick flash message that something couldn't be verified and I'm not on cool down or not. Last sell order that I placed was on the 28th and I had a card sell on the 31st, but otherwise I've not tried to sell any of my dupes since the 28th.
So what am I doing wrong? I'm using a Pixel 9.

How about eliminating the app, problem solved.
-
Can you confirm that right after the error message you tried again and it worked?
With a score of 0.8 you would amply pass the gate
-
I do like 20 ordered then get a timeout for 40 mins it’s wild
-
Okay I feel like this might be mostly an android issue? I have an iPhone as well, downloaded the app, and it worked no problem.
Unless my "reputation" is better on android than ios?
-
@yanksthebest_PSN brilliant idea!
- iOS: Touch and hold the app → Remove App → Delete App.
- Android: Touch and hold the app → Uninstall → Confirm.
-
@Manu__SDS_MLBTS No it right after the error, I closed the app and swiped it from memory and tried again and it gave me the same error.
I then went to the webpage and was able to quick sell two items.
I waited about 2 hours and force stopped the app, reopened it and tried to create a sell order and it worked.
But earlier this morning it wasn't working at all.

I am honestly quite confused by the fact that you've never logged in from the app
There is literally no trace of you on the companion app

Try jfox228 PSN

@Manu__SDS_MLBTS or here now I logged into forums with psn instead of mlbts account

Just a few thoughts. Not sure if it’s for player side or dev side. Sounds like mostly android problem but I see someone mention iOS. Possible to adjust what signals recaptcha looks at while calculating risk score? Maybe some people not having the most updated software or os on their phone is influencing score? Phones that have been jailbroken or unlocked somehow may be red flags? Participating in other web/app usage that generates recaptcha scores too often or not often enough? If someone hardly uses the show app will it generate a bad score if suddenly the app sees moderate usage?
Whatever rules that are in place the last day are blocking bots - so that’s great. I understand a major feature if v3 is that it works in the background but Is it possible to serve people a challenge/puzzle like previous recapcha versions to connection attempts that don’t meet the score criteria but are in a margin of error?
