I encourage everyone who wants to improve your score to Google or use your favorite AI research this version of reCAPTHCHA. It's actually pretty cool, you don't have to play those stupid puzzle games. But man, what convoluted way of doing of things where a simple IP ban on promoters of 3rd party stub sites ie, content creators, one person comes to mind, would deter their minion followers from purchasing from those sites. Effectively damaging those sites business. Not much money coming in means bye bye bots, they will sitting on a glut of worthless stubs and noone to sell them to.

I still don’t understand what it means to improve my score. I guess that it’s a way to provide evidence that I’m a real person instead of a bot, but I’m being told to use AI to research all this and “work to improve [my] reCAPTCHA score” to be able to use the app. Really?

I normally do passive bulk flipping of live series cards, but haven’t lately because my stub count is around 3 mill right now. But if I go back to flipping like this, is it going to flag me? I am not technical enough to understand all of the reCAPTCHA stuff. I’m just an old man who likes baseball and enjoys flipping cards during work.

Basically its a risk score the lower the number higher the risk of potential automation. It's not saying that anyone is using automation, it's saying there is a high risk that automation is going on, hence the cool down period. It's not saying anyone is doing anything wrong it's saying there's an elevated risk that there could be. It's not a ban or even a suspension. Basically, SDS is putting us in timeout.

To raise your score (now at least for me) it'll take some time to raise it up because it goes off.your history. If you start off historically bad, you essentially need to create a new history which takes time. Here are some things that lower your score but not lmited to these, buying or selingl to fast of multiple orders like flipping huge lots of commons or bronze on teams with no diamonds. If you're using a VPN that can lower your score, using different networks and devices, constantly checking orders and constantly repostioning orders to get them sold will lower your score. I think for most of us its buying and selling to fast and constantly checking our orders, canceling them and then repositioning them so they will sell.

Same boat here. Just worried that my normal habits will trigger a ban or some penalty. I like playing offline and flipping on the app. Don’t really want to have to learn about a reCAPTCHA score to enjoy the game

    Pretty much sounds like it.

A mess was created and honest innocent people playing this game now have to deal wit theh consequences and the promoters and stub sites keep marching on. Something bad wrong here Bobby.

Even though I’m not that interested in learning about all the tech stuff, I do appreciate the information you gave. I don’t fully understand it all but what you shared made sense. Thanks!

I just want to play the game and flip when I can…not research how reCAPTCHAs work and make extra efforts to maintain those scores that I didn’t even know about before today!

So if I only use the app. Place like 100 orders, list them when I get them. Wait like 7 hours and cancel the ones that didn’t sell and relist them - is that okay? I do put the orders in and cancel quickly bc you’re just tapping the same button.

Its absolutely not okay. We are all(all as in us honest players)in this mess because allowing CC to get away with things because it brings free advertising. So, because of that CC got big headed, felt invincible, probably felt like SDS wasn't going to do anything to them no matter what sin they commit because SDS needs them for advertising. Because of that CC start telling their minion followers to exploit glitches, buy 3rd party stubs. What does CC care if any of their minion followers get banned as long as it doesn't happen to them.

So SDS needs to figure out a solution to this mess but without pissing off the CC to much because they still need them because they are free advertising. That's why you have this drag net thing going on right now. They're really not solving the issue as long as these promoters of 3rd party sites are allowed to have secondary accounts, because even with a ban they are probably still getting free stuff from SDS on their other accounts. They are still promoting the game as well as promoting on how to cheat the game. They are double dipping.

There people are saying go after 3rd party sites legally, that's not going to happen. They cyber criminals that more and likely run those sites. They would close down the site quicker then you can blink and slither back into shadows never to be seen again. That's why go after promoters, stop the promotion, this stuff will probably go away. But free advertising is still a lot of money saved in the eyes of SDS.

I am sorry, this thread is now a little confusing!

Google's reCAPTCHA v3 for mobile apps is an invisible, background security tool that scores user behavior to block bots without showing puzzles or pop-ups.

    • Runs in the Background: It watches how users interact with your app passively, without interrupting them.
    • Provides a Score: It gives your app a score from 0.0 (likely a bot) to 1.0 (likely a human) based on device and behavioral signals.

@Manu__SDS_MLBTS Thanks Manu! I totally understand why this is necessary with the bots, third-party stub sites, etc., and I'm sorry you guys even have to deal with it.

My only concern is whether the way I legitimately flip could trigger it. I tend to do everything in bulk because I don't have time to actively flip throughout the day. I haven't been doing much lately since my stub count is high and life is crazy with a newborn and my work schedule, but eventually I'll get back to it.

Would you mind if I messaged you privately and explained what I normally do, just to make sure I'm not unintentionally tanking my score? (I can also do it here, just wasn't sure if it should be public in case the bot creators are watching).

Hopefully viewing collections, programs, lineups, etc will give a positive score since I don’t think many bots are viewing those screens

@Manu__SDS_MLBTS thanks for the explanation. Sounds exactly like what’s needed here. I thought I saw mention somewhere yesterday that it was being turned off for tuning, but I can’t find that thread atm. I also haven’t run into a timeout warning myself. If it has been turned off, I’d like to encourage you to turn it back on asap. Especially before the upcoming content drop in 2 hours. The few hours before and after content drops sees major market activity. Yesterday was the best market experience in many weeks.

Thanks @manu__sds_mlbts for clarifying. My concern is the same as @bridge-piece_xbl. I buy bulk 75 silvers to turn around exchange for gold packs. At times I'll flip some bronzes but not often. I want to continue doing the exchange but not at the risk of a 22hr naughty corner visit.

It would be amazing if you could PM me to give some general do not dos without getting into the specifics, that can help me keep from not tagging you, I'm sure I can be very annoying. I've tried a couple things I've read on line but got 1 or 2 error messages which I thought you turned off. Anyways keep fighting the good fight. Hopeful the marketplace will like you said heal but it's very doubtful you'll slow the 3rd party slime ball stub sites down and the marketplace completely heal until you all corral CC and make them stop promoting them. IP bans...hint hint. It feels like a whack a mole and like I said before it's the honest players who are getting wacked. The promoters just hop onto their secondary accounts as nothing ever happened and the 3rd party sites all they do is adjust and continue reek havoc on you guys. I'm getting sick of getting wacked and more so the very few innocents that got banned and won't have the chance to plead their case and have an unbiased review.

    Howdy,

as soon as we get to a point where the implementation is stable and reasonable we can surely come up with 'best practices' to use the marketplace safely and happily!

@DrBear100_PSN A console + IP ban for YFK and OhChev, who have been actively promoting them, would be a pretty solid start toward "maybe let's shut down this sleazy operation."

I totally get why Manu has to do what he's doing, even if it means some legitimate players get caught in the crosshairs. It's not ideal, but if this is mainly about getting through the rest of this year and there's potentially a bigger platform change coming next year that makes it much harder for bots to operate, I can live with some growing pains. I'm trying to stay positive because SDS is in an awful spot when so many people are constantly looking for ways to break the rules.

I agree with you to some degree but isn't SDS kinda laying in the bed that they made for themselves?
