I realize that I took a gamble when I sold my Simmons and Berkman cards in a calculated guess that they would come down in price and allow me buy them back cheaper in order to afford McGee and Schoendienst
There are currently only 4 people selling Ted Simmons
Berkman has more sellers (13) but look at those top prices.
McGee has more sellers but his price has gone up for the last three days and the Buy Now price yesterday was 374K
Over 1.3 million stubs for three Cardinal Players that are not even currently in the meta. You can add in just over another 100 for Suppan and Schoendienst.
That doesn't even count the 1 Million I would probably need to get Ohtani and the NL collection done for Pujols.
They have to do something soon to crash the market. It is clearly too high.

I mean... this is just insanity at this point. I really try to give SDS the benefit of the doubt, but this year has been tough. I have been flipping a little this year, I have 2m in stubs, but between the Cardinals, Egg Hunt Mookie, Postseason Stanton, etc., I wouldn't have enough.
I'm still a few collections short of getting Beltran. I normally don't complete the big collections right away, but I can usually see a "path" to get there. This year, not so much. If they just let these cards stay in the stratosphere, I'd say they either don't care or they're not paying attention.
I mean... SDS saw that the St. Pat's Trout card went ballistic, and they threw him in the Weekend Classic. His price tanked.
Now, if they release a Shark Map with Mookie as the completion reward... I can let bygones be bygones.

In previous years if you started late in the year you could still unlock the previous bosses. This new style is only to get you to whip out the other wallet

The marketplace was allowed to get so far out of hand that another normal flash sale isn't going to help. The fact SDS is still having a stub sale says everything. They're trying to force players to buy stubs.
With Madden coming out you'd hope they would try to fix it, but I really don't see anything that says they are doing anything other then putting a band-aid on a shotgun wound and charging you $50 for it.

Exactly, and you're a Cardinals fan. I'm a Mets fan and I didn't want to spend the 150k on either Lindor or Soto.
Speaking of Cardinals when is the last time Vince Coleman has been in the game? One of my favorite non Mets or A's as a kid.

As i posted in another thread, for comparison, at this time last year i had every card in the game and surplus stubs.
This year i have collections done, but would need a further 5.5M stubs to get the cards i don't have.
I have also had significantly more pack luck this year (pulled Shohei and 3 x Judge, last year, none of them).
Now, i don't really need or want those cards i'm missing, but it gives you a fair idea of how far down the 2K bastardisation model they've already gone.

I don't think he was ever in the game. I was also a big Vince Coleman fan but honestly he feels redundant. I am always going to opt for Brock in LF and McGee in CF both of who have 99 speed and 99 steal, and probably Musial, Beltran, or Berkman in RF
I'm leery that to get more Cardinals since we would probably lose some of the existing ones. That would be tough.

There are so many of us in the same boat. We have the stubs. Not paying for Betts, Simmons, or Stanton/Berkman. I’m confident they will add more postseason and Prime cards. Mookie is such BS. Not buying him. I’ll skip that one if he don’t come down.
