The Show Live
-
Last time they were live was July 2nd
-
I wouldn’t be surprised if they stopped doing the lives for now primarily because they got tired of being called out for dodging actual issues with the game. And maybe the negative reactions to a lot of content they were showing
-
@sbchamps17_NSW that’s actually crazy and says a lot about the passion behind this years game. Over a month while ur game is still supposed to be “fresh”. I consider the game in season till after World Series. So missing out on a whole month of show lives is ridiculous.
-
@Sarge1387_PSN I doubt it. Every live stream is just non-stop bashing, always has been. If that was the reason they would never do them at all.
-
I think all of these impressions are 100% accurate. They could at least give three useless packs out a week in another manner. although if they did it would be released on twitter, which I don't follow anyway. A vacuum of information hurts customer reaction more than having a show live and ignoring your customers' concerns.

The only reason why I remember that date is because it was the start of the long day in the car going to Florida for vacation lol

@sbchamps17_NSW yeah I just can’t believe it’s been over a month that’s pathetic. I get it people have lives and stuff outside of work but no communication for a month is crazy.

Do other ultimate team games have live streams like the show? It seems that the folks that work on the show are more known than the other ultimate team games. But I only play the show, which is why I'm asking
-
@Dodgers_1890_PSN madden does I think.

This!
Nothing screams poor customer support more than running away from your customers. SDS has been repeatedly warned about the consequences of failure to improve many of the game modes, including ignoring those that focus on customer customization of game content.
Their refusal to spend time and money on honest upgrade of the game's engine, basic quality and fidelity of game play, plus the graphics, was placing SDS well behind their competition. I realize that EA Sports has a lot of issues and their Madden title leads the way in that regard. But, other EA titles like NHL and CFB are light years ahead of where MLB The Show is at.
The graphics are better, the game play more faithful to the real game, and you can tell that the game engine takes fullest advantage of the latest console capabilities. After each game I am in the habit of restarting my game console and then performing a shutdown followed by a 10-second hard power off cycle. This cleans the console buffers and prevents game CTD's. Some say this is poorly written code, but it's instead writing code to fully leverage what the console can deliver. This means you cannot just play multiple games in a row without risking the buffer being overloaded, leading to CTD's.
If clearing the buffer failed to stop the CTD's, then it would be game code. But, clearing the buffer and preventing it all the time means the consoles are working at peak capacity to run the game. That's a good thing in my view. If this is preventing SDS from upgrading their game engine and game overall, then it's a bad strategic decision and the customer anger is showing.

At a time when you're being criticised for a lack of communication, going well over a month without a stream certainly is a choice.
What happened?
SDS used to be so good at community engagement.
