On July 9th you could buy Mookie egg hunt card for 25k.

    On June 25th 22k.

    He is now almost 400k.

Ted Simmons went for 52k on July 15th.

    He is now over 400k.

Yinz who made investments, I am completely envious of. Good for you. I’ll never get it. I don’t know how anyone sees this stuff coming…. I don’t play the stock market, I play a baseballl card game to collect the cards. I guess I’m childish.

That being said, hope you guys make out on your investments and we can move on quickly.

These cards are obviously over priced and out of control and flash sale yesterday did ZERO to fix the price of the cards. Only offered Chase pack chances that gave us live series Andy Pages and Yandy Diaz.

    Let’s fix this SDS.

They need to start putting Guaranteed Chase player packs in programs. Even if its one per program.

Heck, I mentioned in another post that I wont play the MP Program after I get the 50 bundle as I don't think the repeatable mission work 5000pts, is worth the possible rewards.

But if they would put a Guaranteed Chase card Pack in the wheel; I'd play online until my controller buttons disintegrated.

I made 500k by selling Berkman and Simmons in hopes that they would come back down. They have not done so yet, and those are two key players for my Theme team so I kinda am on a forced hold until they do come down.

More chase packs are needed, and not at the same time as a stub sale, and there probably needs to be a few more Prime and Postseason cards to drive the price down

I’m with ya! I have plenty of stubs, but I refuse to pay 300+K for a card that should be listed ( at this point in the game) for 5k ( at most)

That is my opinion on a vast majority of the cards I need to finish collections. ( I still haven’t finished Miggy, much less any of the others)

The market is simply and frankly a joke. SDS needs to crash the market. Artificially, but crash it. Maybe if there’s no stubs to be made, no one will need to buy stubs and the bots will go away.

A Shark map with literally multiple packs for each stronghold would get the ball rolling. But, something needs to be done!!

Edit to add: when I say “packs”, I’m not talking about BIAH or regular packs. I’m talking juiced up 90+ “cards that we all need” packs…

What was the point of having a flash sale immediately after they "started" a stub sale from Aug. 5-12 (even though it's been going on PlayStation for more than a week before that but I don't think they ever announced it).

    It's crazy.

I bought Ted at roughly 120k (i can't remember) but ended up not needing him for collections so sold him for 200k thinking that'd be where he would level out to.
    Never expected this.

How do SDS sit on their hands and allow the market to be so grossly inflated for so long?

SDS is all about the $$$ BUT, they are driving players away in the sense of “engagement”. Think about that. I’m engaged. I play daily. I use this message board, but with state of game and values, I’m not buying stubs and I’m not paying UP for these cards. I’ll wait til they come down or I just won’t get Beltran. Sooner or later just move on. Probably to football, hockey, Halloween, DEFINATELY GTA. I think there are lots of players with my same philosophy. Engagement should be more important to them. They are running out of time.

@TripleH-4481_PSN Oh of course, but surely they are aware that any financial benefit they get from keeping the market artificially inflated will be usurped by the loss of players and engagements.

At this stage of the year, if you haven't got collections done and haven't the stubs to even buy single cards to make up ground, let alone cards to keep up, why would you continue playing?

I'm fortunate that I got lucky early in the game so I have collections done, but there are still a ton of cards I cannot afford.
At the same time last year I had every card in the game and a big reserve of stubs.

Oh I completely understand and agree. It’s clear that they don’t know how to reign in the market. Manu has been able to temporarily get the train back on the tracks but it’s quickly derailed within 24 hours.

I think I was in the same spot last year. This year, I'm multiple 300k+ stub cards away from Beltran. I do have 2.5m stubs, but I'm sitting on my hands until the market sells off. Maybe it won't. Since I started DD in 2020, I can't remember this many expensive cards this late in the cycle. Then again, I'm old and don't remember much. GET OFF MY LAWN.
