Some of you guys probably already know - but I did not know you could try to steal, and if the other player pitches out, you can retreat in time to almost never get caught.

Usually, I pitch out and then the other player tries to get in a pickle - and thats easy to deal with....just learn how to handle pickles

But what do you do with the guy that retreats super quick - it makes your pitch out useless. Do you try to throw behind him? How do you see quick enough that hes retreating? If you cancel catcher throw then try to throw behind, its too late.

Stealing is so broken, you just cannot win. Like, even if you pitch out at the right time and you're perfect at pickle plays - you're still screwed!

@rubicante23_PSN not much you can do, but if it’s an event game, I just quit and play someone who isn’t being a cheeser.

Stealing isn't cheesing it's a legitimate part of baseball and there are teams that use this strategy all the time. Now I will grant you that SDS shift to ALL catchers having pop time did not work as intended and stealing is fairly easy. However there are ways to deal with excessive speed teams by using HIGH arm strength, accuracy, and high pop time catchers. They will get better timing windows. As well as mixing in step offs and throw behinds instead of just pitch outs. And if you know you are using a catcher with bad fielding like Posada or Cal then just go after the batter.

If I am picking off runners I usually like to go with some colby or cheddar.

@Rhyno1986_XBL I don’t have a problem with stealing in general, but people being cheesy on the basepaths will be an auto quit in the event for me.

What do you mean rounding 3rd to advance from 1st to 2nd? That's not cheesy that's good base running. If you mean the guys who are good at running through pickles it's not that hard to not get caught off guard and simply throw it home. And don't fall for their stuff

Hes talking about how they start running as soon as the pitcher releases the ball and when they notice its a pitchout: they stop mid steal, as the catcher throws the ball to the second baseman, and run back to first base. Then they try to run back to second; if you have your second baseman throw back to first.

In past versions of the game, you could stop running and retreat back with ease. Either last year, or two years ago, SDS programmed it that the runner would "trip" once the stopped the steal. Its still "overpowered" though.

If they keep doing it; I'll eventually start throwing to first base, instead of second base, and try to catch them coming back.

@Rhyno1986_XBL Basically anything you would never see in a real baseball game. Rounding third and scoring from second on a ground ball to an infielder, intentionally getting in a pickle etc.
