Strange new marketplace activity

While that’s true, the lack of communication by SDS on this topic as well as many others all year long certainly isn’t doing them any favors.
-
When you see those bots adding 125 orders at a time and deleting them just as quickly it’s a good idea to bid along. I focus on diamond equipment and I make a bunch of stubs super fast when I see that going on.
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN Yeah they're not earning a ton of good will this year at all. Some games/devs have an off year, they usually get a pass once or twice because they communicate things. Look at NMS- that game is still going strong after ten years with active communication from the team.
SDS for whatever reason, and I know @sds_joek_psn does his best, seems to think that less is more even in what's turning into one of the worst releases in recent memory...and I'm counting 18 there too.
*edited for typo

I am assuming you mean 2018? I didnt think 2017 was too bad.
-
@theBlindRhino_PSN my entire issue is if bots can have more than 20 why can’t we? It’s pretty cut and dry they are handcuffing our stub making abilities it’s a major factor in determining if this is my last year playing
-
@nhacia88_MLBTS It is clearly several accounts, all with the 20 limit, that are hooked up to a on-off switch. I think the 20 limit per card is actually a good thing and I don't care that people cheat. My concern is making stubs for me and I have been successful in doing so because I watch what is happening and take advantage of it.
-
I think the bots do 20 at a time then repeat it over and over before posting hundreds of sale orders at once. I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure that’s how they get around it. Either way bots have and are currently destroying the market.
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN the 20 limit means any total of owned, pending buy, and pending sell so that is unlikely. Much more likely there are multiple of bot accounts attached to one trigger function which explains how you can be bidding on a card and instantly be one upped by 125 orders all at once and then two seconds later be the highest bid again as they are all cancelled.
-
@Jeff7407_PSN Yes I did- typo!
-
LMAO. I just went to the marketplace to try and buy 20 Chase Burnes at 3000 each, just to see how the limit worked. And wouldn't you know it as soon as I started putting my buy orders in 15 new ones popped up for 3002.
I am pretty sure that the 20 cap is only on diamonds. Can't swear to that but it seems like a remember reading that somewhere.

I'm quoting that post to make this point to SDS.
How many people invest using a broker or investment company without knowing the investment parameters clearly? The answer is of course, no one but a fool!
Point?
There should not be any mysteries to how the community market works, and SDS can very easily remove all the mysteries. Clearly explain the rules, the limits, the process. Is there a card limit and if so, does it have thresholds?
In short, it's called a prospectus. So, SDS, if you want to create a mimic of a true market, then play by the rules of a market. Publish your prospectus, so there are no mysteries.
-
What's even crazier is that card had no buy orders before I started. It's like thay have every card on lock down, basically. You can't hardly buy or sell anything for less then the bots want. No wonder SDS hasn't done anything. It's 'fixed pricing'.
-
@Sarge1387_PSN I am. Either they are the bots, or they are ignoring the bots and giving some BS Chat GPT response to try and save face.
-
@KenKen71412_MLBTS they also said PCI Shrinkage would be removed, not "worked on". They also said the All Star Game MVP was going to be in a pack, but nope, a pretty ridiculous collection, WITH a 98 Bellinger in it lol. Notice they haven't had any The show live since that announcement live on the air? If you believe anything they say at this point, nobody can help you lol.
-
I wish I could recall who said it, it might have been in this thread too- but they said postulated the bots seem to be less about getting the card and more for preventing others from getting it.
-
It does feel like that but I think it’s mostly just them cornering the entire market so much that they will buy anything and everything at little to no profit which a human would never do. This all but eliminates the ability to use the market “as intended”.

Is this what you're looking for? Same point and not wrong either way.

The really irritating thing about the bots is that it seems like they're designed not to help the person using them buy the cards they want, but just to prevent everyone else from being able to buy anything.

We could post all the BS from SDS this year and this thread would be so long it would make Elon Musk want to buy it. Lol

Yessir, that's the one. Thank you!

Y’all are over thinking this. To flip cards for a profit, you need to buy a card then sell a card. You need the highest buy bid and the lowest sell bid. Sometimes you can put a bunch of orders in and wait, but to be competitive, you need to be present and actively putting in bids. The bots are always present and always putting in bids. They don’t make mistakes and they don’t miss a beat. It doesn’t matter if they can buy 2 or 20 at a time. If you aren’t able to buy or sell because you are constantly outbid, you’re not able to flip - or even sell dupes at any kind of profit - or buy things at any kind of price where you could flip for a profit. The whole thing is corrupted because it’s suppose to be human vs human vs human except there’s automated bots that can see multiple cards at once and input/delete bids faster then humans can even reload current price sheets. It’s unfair - period.
