Yep happens several times every year, almost always to the teams with the gatekeepers
This is not a market issue to be fixed. Eventually people will keep getting his card in packs, the card will become more common and the price will drop.
The fastest way to get the card is put in a max bid and wait your turn.

Fun note about him-- he's a super great guy. He's my son's off season pitching coach. Last few years he's been doing lessons in the town he graduated from, Orange Virginia. My kid learned a sweeper from him. Hasn't perfected it yet, but gets some kids buckling, and collects a few swords now and then.
