    Yes it looks like you have to do the Showdown and all of the missions to get the second pack

    Love how I'm still hitting perfect perfect outs against a 33 ovr pitcher, haha.

    I finished the HRD Showdown on my first attempt. Some people are going to hate it as you are facing Ramone on Rookie. That earned me a pack and surprise, I got base round.

    The mini boss gives you 27 outs to score 18 runs. I stocked up on all lefties and Walker. I finished that one with only 2 or 3 outs remaining.

    The Boss (also Ramone) you only have to score 11 if you finished the first Boss. I finished it with 17 or so outs left. Fittingly Jordan Walker hit the game winning HR.

    Be prepared to hit a lot of fouls as rookie is slow pitching anyway and Ramone's fastball is low 80's. While every pitch is not grooved he will groove some pitches if you are patient.

    Can't try it because I have to wake up early for going to the allstarweek thing at the convention center, but man I can't hit that slow cr @p. It should be 85, or better yet 90. Trying to slow down after hitting outlier(which just about every one has) is a nightmare.

    Showdown took one try but Ramone highlights how f'd up the pitching is. In years past Ramone tossed pretty much everything over the plate but like all pitching in the game this year, he's missing the plate by 3 feet and dotting the lines over and over each at bat. It's still easy but there is a lot of waiting for a good ball to crush.

    @Ledfoot_19_PSN

    Yeah and for HR derby he shouldn’t be trying to get your batters out. I get it’s the point of the mode but for this one they could easily program him to throw meatballs to make it fun.

    The entire way the CPU is programmed on lower difficulties is bizarre. Mostly pitching but hitting they will often have eagle eyes or crush a ball right on the black.

    Not that either is hard to overcome but extremely tedious and unnecessary.

    Took me two attempts.

    Yeah, Ramone was dotting like he was Maddux at times.

    Yeah, I’ve said this before, but Madden does “CPU on lower difficulties” correctly. You score SO MANY Touchdowns and are so successful on Rookie, that you are actually encouraged to move up a level and give it a try.

    Not so with The Show. You see so much dotting of pitches, you’re like “why go up a level? I’ll still deal with the shenanigans AND faster pitch speeds!”

    No thank you….

    Yep, Rookie and Veteran are WAY tougher in this game than any other. I feel like they dont know how to change that, though....like they'd need a complete system overhaul

    @rubicante23_psn

    What they would have to really change is their reward structure. In moments (for example), you get choose to do one. It is set for the difficulty and the reward. No option to change a thing.

    If they wanted to make rookie and vet play way easier, they would need to give less points/stars for those levels and more for higher. Then, they would have to give additional ways for folks to complete a program solely on Rookie (for example)

    As you say, a complete reward and program system overhaul. 😀
