Spotlight MA cards
-
Ok, I'm not sure what "algorithm" SDS uses to determine who gets a Spotlight, or Monthly Awards, card; but check out the stats below.
5 runs - 5 HR - 16 RBI - 5 SB - .326 BA
That is up until 12pm EST today June 29th.
Do those stats warrant either a Monthly Awards or Spotlight card?
I wont say the name. At least until I get some feedback.

Dansby Swanson? If so yes I believe he will get a card on Thursday

There are probably more criteria than we know. The biggest ones though are limited spots and the likelihood of the player getting a similar card in another program or pack.
For example I would not expect any likely all star to be included this close to the all star game

No. Not Swanson. Swanson is close on everything but Avg (.195). Different league.

Durbin? And yes he should get a card this week.

Ding Ding Ding! We have a Winner!

@Bridge-Piece_XBL If they give him a card in sincerely hope they fix his player model.
He looks like a box in game.

I know that as a Phillies fan this might sound bias but I would love to see Brandon Marsh get a card because he's had a great month of June but I also realize that he might get an All Star card instead

I'm not saying he does or does not deserve a card but looking at the stats for the week.
Tied for 18th in Batting average for the week (22nd - 28th).
Not in the top 25 for HRs (1)
Had 0 RBIs for the weekLooking at the stats for the month.
(I don't think last nights game were included on Fangraphs yet. )14th in Batting Average
23rd (tied) in HRs
63rd (tied) in RBIs (he had 13)
32nd (tied) in Runs
10th (tied) in WARI didn't look too closely at who was in front of him in those categories. Could be guys with better cards already, previous spotlights, or potential all-stars.
For The Month I would say these guys have a good case
- Dillon Dingler (.331 AVG, 25 RBIs, 8 HRs, 1.7 WAR)
- Luis Garcia Jr (.305 AVG, 25 RBIs, 11 HRs, 1.2 WAR) (Already has Topps Now card from Jun 12th)
- Hunter Goodman (.258 AVG, 25 RBIs, 13 HRs, 1.1 WAR)

He's a tricky case. He is in the all-star voting but I would not call him a sure thing yet. The Dodgers and Braves have strong voting fans and each of those teams have 2 finalists for the outfield.
He deserves a card somehow though.
