Why are some IL players still on active roster?
-
For years, I've wondered why some injured players are moved to free agency and others not. For example, Carlos Correa is out for the season but still active on the Astros DD roster. Yet, players with shorter IL stints are in free agency. Seems completely random. Any rhyme or reason??

I always thought it’s based on 40-man roster, and that’s it. So if a guy is injured, and still on the 40-man roster, he’s going to be on the team. But maybe I’m wrong.

I think, in general, diamonds and maybe even gold don't get pulled even if they're injured. I know for sure the gatekeeper types don't. It would be nice if they were consistent but I also get it as it would throw off the marketplace big time if all of a sudden Judge was pulled from LS...

Why?
Aaron Judge is on the IL. If they removed him then the AL collection just got a whole lot cheaper!!!
They don't want that
