DeGrom Showdown Tips
-
I honestly don't know how this happened. I beat this showdown on the FIRST TRY.
I started the DeGrom showdown and did the first mission. Then I just jumped into the final showdown without even looking at the difficulty or anything. All I saw was that I had to get 14 runs.
THEN I learn it's on hall of fame. I prefer an easy time and tend not to go above all star if I can help it. I SUCK at hall of fame. The PCI is so small, the pitches are crazy fast compared to what I'm used to, and I probably almost quit twice. But I gritted my teeth and stayed. Somehow, by SOME MIRACLE, I pulled it off and hit a two run homer to finish it. Baseball is crazy, man.
So advice for completing it if you're stumped:
- Choose perks that say "when losing" or "in the 9th inning or later."
- I don't think batter handedness matters too much, just pick hitters that are good against righties.
- Steal, steal, steal bases. You can even steal with moderate-speed runners early on. Once the Rangers lead gets narrow, about 5 runs or so, the fielders will actually start doing their jobs, so be careful stealing after that point.
- Be patient. Just focus on making contact at first. Foul off as many pitches as you can, make deGrom work. His energy bar will turn yellow after 60 pitches and he'll start to lose finesse. Your runs will come easier then.
Hope this helps! Good luck.

I think if people arereally struggling they should grab the bunt perk and draft players with over 70 speed. The perk makes it so everyone has max bunting. They won't always get on but at least it's not a strikeout or a pop out ( the perk also makes it very unlikely to pop up a bunt)

Congrats!! I’ve always said the middle of the PCI is the middle of the PCI no matter how big or small it is just don’t let it get to your head. Once you get the speed down HOF ain’t so bad. It’s about good swings and staying focused especially in showdown where you can snowball 5-6 outs in 5-6 pitches.
Imma be honest though… +15 runs against outlier on HOF ain’t a miracle and you didn’t get lucky

Get 2 strike perks and make him throw you 2 strikes. I loaded up on lefties and switch hitters. Steal bases when you’re down big. I think they’ll start trying to throw you out when you’re 4-5 runs down. I used contact hitting with 2 strikes. Get his energy and confidence down as far as you can. I didn’t win but was tied with 1 out left. Also he somehow got his confidence bar back to half after an out when I had it all the way down; and people wonder why people take advantage of exploits when they can.

Thanks! Perhaps I awakened some dormant powers within myself to pull it off... it was crazy either way
