SDS has been on the decline for years now. They don’t care. They aren’t going to do anything about it. You can either accept it or move onto another hobby/game.

Honestly I think Konami is going to take over the licensing sometime soon. They already have the MLB license, they have mobile game with Ohtani as the face of it, have a console NPB baseball game coming out, and they're the official sponsor of the All Star Game. Just feels like SDS is trying to squeeze every last bit go juice out of this before they're gone.

People seem to have a wildly exaggerated idea of "the community's" importance. The regulars on this forum represent maybe one or two percent of the game's fanbase, and even those numbers are probably a little generous. If every single one of you stopped buying the game tomorrow and convinced everyone close to you to do the same, sales of the Show still wouldn't drop enough for SDS to even notice a difference financially. The majority of the people who buy the game are casuals who have absolutely no idea that there was a cheating issue to begin with.

Not taking any action against this exploit and pushing updates while ignoring the community is unlike what PEAK SDS used to be. Remember when you listened to fans?

If there is another glitch, any indication people can exploit the game, without fear of getting banned… yall are in trouble. Everyone who intentionally stayed away, will flock to do it.

Also, keep in mind, the most anticipated game of the decade is coming out in November. Your money maker will be in trouble next year. But then again…that’s why you made the Mobile game.

How do you know they aren't, or haven't, doing anything about the WBC MS Glitch?

Just because they haven't mentioned it; doesnt mean they aren't, or haven't, doing anything about it.

They'll never come out and publicly say their intentions.

SDS won't but I'd expect the crybabies who thought they were either entitled to or thought they did nothing wrong to post their grievances.

@ApolloZ_99_MLBTS Even if that true, did it make people not buy the show?

@GoozeFn_PSN I mean it probably took some away since it was more popular and people had been waiting for it to return. It sold way more than the show did I can tell you that.

@Teak2112_MLBTS I don't know, brother. GTA VI is the most anticipated game of the past decade, and it has something most other games don't- the ability to retain players. It's a long term game.

Now, could you be right? Absolutely, especially in the (however unlikely) event that it flops, or just lacks content. And like you said, SDS has some issues of similar or bigger size to worry about. How the looming potential stoppage of the '27 MLB season will affect them, for example. Or how they recover from this general flop of a release

GTA VI will maul everyone in its path, including Madden, COD, 2K. Assuming its ever released.

@ApolloZ_99_MLBTS Do you actually know the numbers or are you guessing? Did it take people away mid cycle, or did people not buy 26 because of it?

GTA 6's release wont wipe out 2027 gaming. It will absolutely screw over the industry during the holiday season though.

So that makes cheating OK because the majority of people don't know about it? This sounds like an employee of SDS response.

@GoozeFn_PSN there was a dip in play when it came out. But ofc it would take players away with the game been out and college football just get released. MLB the show is not popular compared to 2k Madden or college football.

@whitejw98_MLBTS thats not true at all as far as the way the majority of people are feeling, not the minority. Have you seen Twitter? Google reviews. 100s of thousands buddy. Go onto any social media platform. Way to try and down play the situation though. Nice try. I love how people try to be contrarians and they think they are so smart. You arnt smart. Do some research before you spew off at the mouth.

@ApolloZ_99_MLBTS I just think taking players away from the game mid cycle is meaningless. I don’t think that is what will happen with GTA. If it comes out later this year and online drops before the show release, people will not buy the show because they’ll be wrapped up in GTA. Will that be a significant number? I don’t know, but I suspect it will be. Add to that a potential lockout and all the people upset about the mess this year, they are in trouble. I really hope they have big plans and real improvements for 27. Im not sure they could get me back for 27 and this point.

@Ditka06-_MLBTS When all the streamers are visibly upset about the state of the game, the negativity spreads like wildfire. There’s always a lot of negativity on the forum. This is different. This game is a disaster. The people that suck up to SDS, so they can get flown out to play the game early and get face time with the developers are so fed up they are trashing the game.

I agree, I think '27 will be a tough year for gaming in general because of GTA. But SDS is, I won't say in trouble, more of a crossroads. They need to take a long look at what they're planning to release. There's so many aspects that need improving. Server stability, and pitch morphing online, the timing windows need resetting (they tweaked them this year and they're far too inconsistent), Stadium Creator needs updating, better tuning of CPU defense...all of that needs to be addressed if they want to succeed.

GTA is releasing 4 to 5 months before MLB 27 so I don't see it having much impact. The people who just buy it for the story/campaign will be done with it by then and I am not sure the online GTA players were ever the same audience for MLB The Show.

The one thing I noticed in Sony's state of play this week was that there were a lot of games releasing in September trying to beat the GTA juggernaut to market.

@GoozeFn_PSN wow yeah. Not good. Did you see there is someone on the market selling five ohtanis right now? How do you get your hands on five ohtanis? 🤔. Maybe they paid for stubs I dont know. How do you get that many stubs to even have five of them? But 95 percent of us cant get one. Like this isnt hard to see. Sds cant look at that person's account and see how this said person was able to obtain five of them. And thats just five that we can see.

Yeah just imagine how many packs he had to open via the wbc glitch to do that. With the odds at 1:12,500 packs that comes out to being roughly 75,000 packs. Guy has probably been exploiting the glitch for months. No way those were pulled legit and even if bought low it still had to cost between 3 to 3.5 million stubs to try and flip.
