I mean… who gets to define “advantage”? And who is it an advantage against? It wasn’t a gameplay exploit. And, everyone could do it, so it wasn’t an advantage over any other person.

100% the only reason this will be a big deal for SDS is because it made getting easiest a loss to SDS.

You don't see players exploiting what was known to be a glitch to earn 1000's of packs that those who did not exploit will never be given the chance to earn an advantage?

Sure it may not help them win actual games but it definitely gives them an advantage on collections and earning players/stubs some of us will never come within spitting distance of all year.

    alt text

Another player who boasted about it on X played 146 games with the average time between games at 1 minute 23 seconds. They took a break and came back and played 119 more with a gap of 1 minute and 31 seconds between games. Their post bragging about it was accompanied by a picture of the collection screen for Tulo

This is something that should be very easy for SDS to detect if they really wanted to.

@Dolenz_PSN 4100 packs!! 820 ballen packs! Plus...108 mini season bundles in one night. Thats equal to months if not an entire year's worth of grinding for the average player. And some of you do not think they deserve to be banned!? Sds will lose all credibility if these players do not get banned.

It was over 800 BIAH packs. 4100 standard and 800 BIAH, you don’t earn that over a year of playing. Ban or lose the good and fair customers.

Wow, I spammed the [manure] out of the wbc ms the first month , completed 40 or so and didn't get 25% of that amount of packs.

@Dolenz_PSN it’s an advantage anyone could do, though. That’s all I’m saying. Don’t get me wrong, I certainly think it’s shady. And I wouldn’t do it out of fear of getting banned. But I could have. You could have also. Anyone could have.

The only reason I can see SDS taking any action of this is not because there was an advantage against other players. It’s because there was an advantage against SDS.

It’s like counting cards in blackjack. Counting cards does not hurt the other players. But it hurts the casino so you’ll get removed if they find out.

SDS hasn’t taken any action against the market bots, the cheaters, the massive amount of bugs in the game, etc. I have a feeling something will come of this though.

But not because of an advantage users have over other users.

Your argument has a few flaws.

For one, not everyone could have done it. People who don't follow the game's content creators or reddit may not have known about it. People may have been on vacation.

And you are wrong about it not hurting other players. Market inflation affects all of us.

And yes, someone who used the glitch in general has an advantage over someone who did not. Not only do they have Tulo, they also have JRam and Marte while making it more expensive for someone without Marte to get him. They have an advantage with the next legends collection as well.

And in general exploits tend to lead towards the game becoming less player friendly. A good example of this is the bunting bots in 2024 multiplayer that led SDS to change the ranked path to being almost purely offense (and Ks) based instead of innings as a baseline with offense to speed it up. People exploiting RTTS players, created stadiums, etc. Plenty of examples.

So its perfectly ok for some people to have ripped thousands of packs and hundreds of ballen packs in one night?? If some people did it a few times ok maybe not ban them, the others absolutely, goodnight bye bye, dont pass go, you are gone! Some of us have been playing everyday for months and havnt had half of those packs. Anyone coming on here stating there shouldnt be a ban or some type of punishment, Get outa here dudes. Hush up. And dont compare this to using josh hader or Michael King its not even close. You all sound idiotic.

I didnt mean to steal your wallet it was hanging out of your pocket and easy for me to take. Thats the mentality.

To my knowledge they have never banned people for exploiting a glitch like this. Anyone know any different?

Stub/market manipulation gets banned but you can do these or use 3rd party devices.

    Bad comparison.

Counting cards does not affect other cost for other players at the backjack table.

As I sit here this morning and look at the 1 card I was hoping to save enough stubs to buy I see that his price was

    5/30 = 162K
    5/31 = 211K
    6/1 = 255K

That is a 93K price spike in two days. A 57% increase. I was going to have a hard enough time getting to the 162K. It now seems impossible. So people using the glitch did affect my game.

Now, I still am dubious whether they will actually ban people, although there were people so blatant and brazen about it that they should blame those folks. The person whose game log I was able to look up posted their PSN name on X and bragged about having Tulo now. Seems like low hanging fruit when it comes to banning.

Easily if you don't have Judge or Ohtani. lol. I still don't have Ohtani or any of the other collections so you know I didn't do the glitch. I had to play like 20 hours this weekend just to get the boss pack.

Data would show SDS that more people have the collection rewards. I'm 100% sure they look at that kind of data. It is why we had double XP this weekend. Their data likely showed fewer people getting to the boss pack.

@DemIsE4_XBL that boss pack was easy to get to. But opening over 5k packs would take forever. Be real crazy if they didn’t pull anything lol.

I’ll counter by saying that the one card I needed to finish LS dropped from 500+ to 417 when I got him. So it helped me (I wasn’t even aware a thing was happening, and got lucky to check when I did I guess).

Just so there’s no misunderstanding, I hope those that overly exploited this get nailed hard. I just think SDS won’t do anything because a) they’ve done nothing about anything else, why change? Or b) there is a LOOOOOT of gray in their TOS (done intentionally I would imagine).

I certainly didn't find the boss pack easy to get to and I did all the missions except the DQ one.

I could actually pull that off. Having that many packs and not pulling anything.

What should happen? people should be banned Period. Too many trying to justify cheating, by everything else that has happened, well they didn't fix the Hader/King glitch, so I am entitled to this....

What I think will happen? I think SDS bans the extreme exploiters, anyone who streamed bragging about it. This isn't exploiting a banner, this is money out of their deep pockets. (Not sticking up for SDS, I'm saying you hit them in the wallet) It may be a drop in the bucket but they have been combating giving away packs all year. Pushing more to the pay for stubs method than ever before. If not this than absolutely nothing will happen, and it wont' be spoke about.

Last WC, the last 36 hours players lost out on rewards, SDS did nothing. A week ago, they had issues with the app and website, they extended their flash sale, because that makes them money, the scenario against the player loses them money.

If they do not ban players for this exploit, it will null and void their TOS. Yes, it was an SDS issue, sounds like known issue. The moment you do this more than once for personal gain it becomes and exploit. So, going forward if they ignore this, then anyone who gets banned, has a pretty good case against them. You cannot pick and choose which is a violation of TOS and which is bannable.

The final thing, you're literally giving the middle finger to the player base who didn't exploit the game, to players who did spend money and purchased stubs, and finally to the NMS player who just grinds it out. If they ignore this like they do everything else, and not be transparent about it, they will be stuck with nothing but exploiters and cheaters, as the player base who gets the big middle finger will move on. They've really been pushed into a corner here, so we will see what actually happens.

    EDIT
The other thing I could see happening, is they completely leave everything as is. Ignore the exploit treat it like it didn't happen. Do not fix it, and the grinding method that a lot of people have used, by getting through WBC and getting the championship bundle stays at 1 stub. Which makes you think, was this leak strategic? We are giving away too many Championship bundles through the WBC, leak this, now we have a reason to shut it all down....food for thought
