Question for those who grinded/Did not participate in glitch
-
This will be the last MLB the show game I will ever play. I've put too much time into this game and truly get nothing out of it. If people play the game to cheat and reap all the benefits with no repercussions then I'm out. I grind, I buy stubs occasionally. I pre-order the game every year. I'm done.
-
@Rubbaneck34_XBL I also pre order every year I don’t buy stubs. I grinded a lot and this with doubtful bans considering we see how the cheating scandal is going mind u like many ppl have said this is much easier to detect. I’m just fed up and it feels like a slap in the face. All these people bathing in there infinite influx of stubs by letting a computer grind a video game for them not to mention probably well off cause they probably sell the stubs but are still doing it today 2 months into the cheating issue and it’s been leaked by streamers… I’ve just been stabbed in the back it feels like and my love for this game is bleeding out. And that’s from me who has everything in this game except the most recent set cause I haven’t been playing nearly as much cause I’m just fed up. This game isn’t what it once was it was the best NMs sports game out there.
-
A lot of yall should’ve got this “slap in the face” a long time ago apparently. Dropping $100 a month on stubs for this game? That they’ve clearly copy/pasted and put out a glitch filled/cheater filled product that they could care less about fixing?
Have they even put out any patches this year that have actually improved the game much at all besides making the strike zone what is should have been years ago?
I mean, it’s your guys’ money obviously, but when you give companies money like that when they clearly don’t care about you as a customer, that’s how products continue to get worse every year.
I know it’s the only baseball game out there. If you pay the admission price to get the game, I get it, but additional micro transactions on this game?
-
@genopolanco_PSN I don’t buy stubs I just pay the 100$ game price for digital deluxe that’s it.
-
That’s what’s so deflating for a lot of the long timers here. Seeing the way this company has ran this game into the ground. No customer service. No communication. No attention to detail. No accountability.
Idk if you were around these forums back in the early 2010’s. But you’d have the devs on here all the time interacting with all of us. It was very civil. Felt like they really cared about their product and like they were just fans of the game like we were.
I guess that’s what DD modes and micro transactions does to a gaming company though.
-
@genopolanco_PSN I wasn’t in the forums was around the game tho and the downfall of this is as clear as day.
-
Corporate greed plus the men now in charge clearly came over from EA/2K world so they are pasting that model into this game. The push towards monetization quality and customer satisfaction be damned has been aggressive. Ultimately the game is a shell of what it was just a few years ago. It’s sad.
-
Just to make this crystal clear. SDS has been 100% compromised. Its sad but this will never be fixed and rectified in any way shape or form. Therefore a life long MLB The Show player is gone.
-
The question is, are they going to address this? Or is it just gonna be left unspoken of like the rest?
-
I think we all know the answer.

-
I think SDS was already in danger of losing me with the copy pasta and apparent lack of effort with this release in particular.
For me, the stadium creator lacking sorely needed refinements, the lack of TA (and content in general), the very clear movement to Pay-to-Earn by instilling a card cap to neuter market investing, doing next to nothing about market bots, the rampant cheating, server instability.
I pride myself on being NMS to begin with, but I always buy the deluxe or SE to get early access etc. I'm seriously considering leaving my wallet in my pocket next spring. I'm 39 and I've got tons of things I could probably be doing aside from this game.
-
Definitely the beginning of the end for a lot of people. Whatever they choose to do (if anything) is going to [censored] off a large group. They already took away favorites like Team Affinity and Theme Teams, so whats the point to keep grinding the never ending rat race. Id rather jump off a cliff than run through mini seasons for a 5000th time. So many good games coming this summer, cant see many hanging on as long as they have in the past.
-
@Sarge1387_PSN my sentiment to a tee. Except I'm a couple years older but yeah, the last 3 years my anticipation for the new game has dwindled. so many new reasons to not support. we'll see.. I do have a small glimmer of hope within me that says they are neglecting us only because they are putting their energy into a new game, updated gameplay, etc...
someone is gonna put out a good MLB game to play in the future, no doubt.
I wonder what the actual MLB, owners, commissioner, etc..thinks of the poor job by SDS, sony, the show? The tarnish is evident. Does MLB care? I bet they do.
-
energy into a new game, updated gameplay, etc...
I wish I could agree with that...but I think we both know it's because they're pouring their limited resources into the Mobile game that nobody asked for nor wanted
someone is gonna put out a good MLB game to play in the future, no doubt
I wouldn't be surprised if we see EA put a game out in the next couple years, which is why they bought the rights to SMB- this would at the very least give them the framework to build from.
Does MLB care? I bet they do.
With the looming threat of a lockout/strike, they better care. Like SDS, they'll need all the positive PR they can get
-
I highly doubt MLB cares about DD. Come on now.
The rest of the game needs some love but it is far from the dumpster fire DD is. -
@BLAISEBLAISE_PSN option 2 it is I think anybody who’s been playing this game for a while knows the answer.
-
I suspect this glitch was available for a while b4 it was discovered. Its not surprising that such a glitch would happen - the basic menus barely function.
But, lets be realistic too - I think bots are pretty much gonna destroy ANY game with a virtual economy. Like, no game company is willing to take the steps for dedicated servers to stop it. That horse is way out of the barn.
-
I don’t think this is a true statement in all games. Madden Ultimate Team players complain about ALOT (!!!!), but bots in the market is not one of those complaints
So “whatever” EA has done with their market is working. (I can’t speak to other ultimate team games).
-
Makes no difference to me. What other people do has no affect on whether or not I enjoy the game.
-
I'm going to see this year out to the end. I have too many hours invested to quit now.
However, I will not be purchasing this game next year for the first time in over 10 years.
I feel like there are so many things going wrong and their lack of giving a **** is a slap in the face to all those that have been extremely loyal to this game.
