@rubicante23_PSN this is sad but true outside of 25/30 Meta guys u don’t see to much diversity in this game.

There are always going to be 25-30 "meta" guys for online play no matter what they do. The only solution, and they are actually getting close to this at times, is give the non-meta cards attributes that are not realistic or make every card a cookie cutter card that are interchangeable
Even if all the cards were cookie cutter cards there would still be a meta based on some being switch hitters or having a "sweet" swing.
I'd venture to say you see more lineup variety with the offline players. There are probably plenty of offline players like me for whom the theme teams and captains are more commonly used.

@Dolenz_PSN short sighted?? SDS?? 🤪
-
@platewelder_363_MLBTS I mean he ain’t lying players will pick the player that perform the best with cuz they want to win.
-
@Dolenz_PSN as a Dbacks fan it annoys me that they never get any love in the content drops besides getting an end game Marte and Randy. I wish players like Corbin Carroll were featured more
-
@rubicante23_PSN OR… they could actually make team builds viable. Another mode would be great though. I’d like a 6 inning online theme team mode.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN yeah, whatever way you want to do it. I'd prefer that there be an actual way to use most of the cards - like "hey cool, I can insert this card into my Twins theme team...and that theme team will make my overall team better" - some system like that.
But, that's more complicated and will annoy some people, I'm sure - the simple way is just to let you build a theme team as your main team, and have it be competitive. That's tricky to do, though - like, people aren't gonna go try to get the super rare Chase and collection cards if you can just do a theme team that's about as good. Any company that makes any game is gonna want there to be "super good shiny things" for you to covet - and those things have to be better. That's the reason we're stuck where we are.
But again, there are lots of systems that have been invented where there's a use for "lesser cards" - an actual way for you to use and build with cards that everyone knows are not the best ones.

I like this series.
Here is what I don't like:
Cityscapes, Mural, Vintage. There is no need for a new medium sized set every two weeks. They all should be one big set, or maybe two. But of course that would mean less collections so cant have that.
Cant even make a full squad from any of these sets because SDS despises relievers

@AppleLemon560_MLBTS No team will ever have enough switch hitters for theme teams to be the meta. It doesn’t and shouldn’t be the meta, but they should be viable. By the time most teams have enough diamonds, the captains are outdated and unusable.

Here's hoping that the 5 teams that got completely ignored in both the Cityscapes and Mural drops get something this time.
Diamondbacks
Athletics
White Sox
Giants
NationalsThey have now shown a White Sox card and a SF Giants card. No sign of Arizona, Athletics or Nationals.

It now looks like the Nationals and the Athletics have been shut out of all 3 of these big drops and Arizona's only card will be a ridiculously expensive collection card
I guess it is because those two teams never had any star players early in their careers

It makes zero sense they’d give some teams zero cards, and drop Carpenter as the 94 without any of these players being captains. Why would they give us Pendleton / Carp in same drop, as 3B, while giving other teams 0 cards. it makes zip zilch sense.
