My opinion of the game and my offline franchise
-
Too many home runs and fly balls especially late in games. Ground ball pitchers until this season actually threw mostly ground balls. That's not the case in MLBTS26.
-
I loved ABBA, too!!
Oh ...

Sweet!!!
A few years back I was ordered to get all my stuff from my parents house. I was going through those about 3 weeks ago. I got all the sets from the 80s through 1993 and a bunch of the classic teams. Plus 1978, the one I played with my dad.

@dogfishjones0_PSN I appreciate these good vibes Dog Fish Jones
-
@Barfy-Bad-Gas_XBL Same here, if you avoid playing DD mode, and treat this as an offline game, akin to baseball games on the Genesis, or N64 days, it's a great baseball sim.
-
I have gameplay on simulation and this isn't close to simulation. Late innings are a circus.
-
I play each and every batting/pitching in the game. I simulate nothing. I do not have an issue with late inning homers. Yes, I do lose and win a few in the 9th inning, but it is not something that regularly happen. That happens in real baseball.
I have lost games because of a homer, but I have found that real teams do start swinging for the fences to gain that run(s). The CPU pitching can be hit or miss, but if i see their reliever is rather wild, I'll wait unit the pitch location is in my favor, but that does not result in a homerun often.
I do have my sliders adjusted to make it what I feel truer to life. -

I have mine set on simulation mode. I am not seeing those problems, not saying you are not.
-
I played APBA and strata-matic way back when. I loved it because for its time it offered great realism. At 70 years old, it took some time to adapt to video games, but having played since 2014 I've reach a point where I can play my franchise on legend. I played online for years and fared well but stopped a few years ago because of all the quitting, cheating, and disparaging texts from petulant sore losers. I think I'm just getting too old for online play but with all the complaints I find this game very enjoyable to play.

I remember playing 'baseball' on my 2600 in the late 70s. The 'player' was essentially a rectangle with a circle for a head (I sure would like the 'face scan' folks to play that for a few hours).

But, despite my near 50 years of playing video game baseball, I still can't hit water if I fell out of a boat.

Are you using manage mode?

I bat with my team, and I pitch with my team. The only thing I have on auto is fielding.

@dogfishjones0_PSN
A friend in Strat is a friend of mine!I 100% agree.
This version of Baseball we have with the show is pure art to my eyes.
I see Keith Hernandez play vs Detek Jeter.
I love it and thete is Strat randomness in the RNG of Classic Pitching and auto fielding.
Hitting on Legend is hard enough.

It’s cool you’re enjoying it. To be fair I’m enjoying my time with it as well.
The problem I have is the lack of updates.
First of all the graphics. I know this isn’t important, but they have not updated the graphics in at least 16 years. How are we still experiencing PS3 graphics in a ps5? Yes it may be smoother, but this game should be far better graphically.
The lack of innovation in franchise mode. We haven’t seen real updates to this version in 15 years. So much of what’s in the mode is still broken or undercooked. How are things not more immersive from an owner perspective? Setting prices, upgrading facilities, ability to build new stadiums, new teams etc. just so much left out
Finally the most annoying thing for me is the announcers. They’re SO repetitive to begin with. I understand that theres only so much they can do to add variety, but man they say the same things every game. Also, they’re just flat out wrong all the time. For example, I’m at a point in My franchise where they’re talking about league leaders, and I have two guys on my team where they’re constantly talking about how they’re among the leaders in Home runs and best power hitters in the league. Both of them I have less than 10 HRs with… there’s multiple guys with 20+ HRs at this point. That’s just an example.. there’s plenty other they get wrong. Honestly I just miss the Matt Vasgersian days

There were significant changes to franchise this year. Whether for the better or worse is up for debate.
-
Haven't played since 23, picked up 26 this year. Enjoying it so far after doing all the little changes to set up and sliders. Haven't simulated any games and like a fool played 70+ games with Braves in franchise mode
So far haven't experienced any glitch moments. As far as entertaining idea of giving it more depth I mean how far can any developer go with video games before it gets ridic. As far as SDS updating the game well yeah that's a whole another topic for discussion

This.
- Trading: The institution of the 'untouchable' players. No more instant trades. No more trade acceptance meter.
- Free Agents: Free agency is now like draft signing. Free agents are sorted by ranking. Free agent 'locked' demands.
- Contract Extensions: Players must be arbitration eligible to extend contracts.
- 40 Man Rosters: You must keep a full 40 man roster. The CPU will automatically fill the 40 man if you do not.
These are just a few that come to mind. There are many more.
Just like @alstl04_psn said ... better or worse is a matter of opinion.

I’ve found a lot of enjoyment in creating a team a building up a franchise this year, this is the first year franchise has more play time then rtts for me..so much so that I built a browser app to streamline all of my franchise tracking…no more spreadsheets for this guy

I'm 70 and started playing in 2014. I play on legend and do pretty well with the sf Giants. When I started playing I couldn't hit a cow in the [censored] with a bass fiddle! With a lot of practice and watching multiple YouTube videos I've become formidable.

I have something coming your way that you guys might like. It's an operating system guide offering my ideas, suggestions, tips, and to-dos on running a franchise team offline as well as running a Diamond Dynasty squad as though it were a franchise offline. Would you guys pay at least 5 bucks to see a PDF of that work?
