I like franchise a lot, minus the idiotic lineups and bullpen usage (always coming in with 2 outs). The foulball rates drive me nuts. But the trades actual came out realistic for the first time I can actually remember. The players decline didn’t work as advertised though for older veterans having great seasons.

I will not type here and tell you everything is correct and right. I did rate it a 9/10.
I am finding the game to be fun, and the cheapest sort of entertainment money can buy. You can buy a car; truck don't let me get on boats GAD! but even at those prices guess what? you have something go wrong or does not work right. Now compare the price factor, $80 to $80,000
This game gives us a pretty good representation of baseball. Back when I was a kid, about the same time dinosaurs were roaming the earth, we had one baseball that seemed to be perfect in a way, and I spent countless hours with friends playing it. It was the Strat-o-Matic card and dice game.
We could not wait until we could order the new edition then wait two or more weeks for it to be mailed to us. Then tear all the cards from the perforated sheets.
Computer games were like a dream, Home computers, forget that nonsense, never will happen. We did have the Atari pong game!!!!!! Mind you we had to beg our parents to buy us a simple calculator to do the stats ourselves, they were not chap back then, it was a major purchase. I did lean a lot of math in those days. Batting averages, ERA, kind of stuff.

Here we have all that done for ourselves and many more stats. We have a great video screen to see and watch the game. I understand all the people ranting this glove, this sock, this face scan stuff, but looks guys, it is nothing more than a game. A very cheap game really for the amount of time you spend on it.
Let's just say, this is the last edition of The Show because they got tired of the complaint and people always saw the negatives rather than the great stuff it gives us......what then?
Strat-O-Matic games are still in business I'm sure, go play that and compare to what we all have today. Everything depends on how you roll the dice if you get a hit or not.
But...but... you will not have to worry about face scans, socks, bats, equipment in general. heck you will not even have a stadium to play in, just a cardboard piece with three bases printed on it.

Be happy, be appreciative of The Show 26 and next year, they may add something you wanted before.

My experience with mlb the show, and franchise in particular, has been awesome. This game is not perfect , hell, what is? That said, the gameplay, graphics, and overall realism is pretty [censored] goo!. I've been playing since 2014 and continue to play today on legend difficulty at 70 years old. I've played every mode at this point from DD, RTTS, March to October etc. I have settled in to strictly franchise because the CPU never quits or sends me a disparaging text.

@dogfishjones0_psn I was an APBA guy myself. They didn’t have face scans either. Heck, this game didn’t really do much after launch around 5 years ago either.

Let's give them credit, they have given us 10 updates as of right now. I'll use another game that is new to the market as far as sports go. Nascar 25 from I-Racing. They sold you on this great game which has so many holes in it, that it would not hold a tablespoon of water. plus, they sent the game out at the end of the Nascar season with no chance of getting any updates for the 2026 season, you cannot even make those changes, it is very hard coded. You cannot change one thing now. Then they gave people some updates, but they all went away, left everyone high and dry just right after the season began because they want you to buy the next game at the end of this season. No forums to discuss the game on their site, really no type of interaction from them. This game costed about if not more than The Show. That tells me either they do not want to hear from those that bought it or they think they are way superior to those that bought it and they do not have the smarts to interact with them.
Think on this, say they give us this game in September with no possible chance to alter anything, roster, players attributes, nothing, you take what they give you on release. Then they give you a "few" little updates and then in December they stop and tell you wait in The Show 27 in September.
That my friends in my mind terrible service and loyalty to you and the money you have spent. Yet, they want you to spend another $80-$90 for naother game that is outdated the day you buy it.
Madden is still king of sports gaming as money goes for a major U.S. league. But hasn't Madden been about the same for about 20+ years now? Yea, a little here, a little there, but two years ago I stopped buying it and have found that I do not miss it at all. I did purchase the NCAA football game and that in itself suffice me enough to not consider Madden anymore, they are basically the same game, but I like college football much better than the NFL...well I am losing interest with all the NIL and transfers that happen, it has gone to the dumps it seems. But I regress in all that.
I love The Show as one game that I keep playing, it holds my interest and I again will say, I play 162+ games in my franchise mode. It holds me all season long which is great value.
Will The Show 27 be much better next year? No, because they have this game maxed out and close to being real life as you can right now. They will add some eye candy here and there but do not look for a revamped game, it doesn't need to be revamped, just added to in some areas. That will be enough for me to get it next year.

Too many home runs and fly balls especially late in games. Ground ball pitchers until this season actually threw mostly ground balls. That's not the case in MLBTS26.

    Sweet!!!

A few years back I was ordered to get all my stuff from my parents house. I was going through those about 3 weeks ago. I got all the sets from the 80s through 1993 and a bunch of the classic teams. Plus 1978, the one I played with my dad.

@Barfy-Bad-Gas_XBL Same here, if you avoid playing DD mode, and treat this as an offline game, akin to baseball games on the Genesis, or N64 days, it's a great baseball sim.

I have gameplay on simulation and this isn't close to simulation. Late innings are a circus.

I play each and every batting/pitching in the game. I simulate nothing. I do not have an issue with late inning homers. Yes, I do lose and win a few in the 9th inning, but it is not something that regularly happen. That happens in real baseball.
I have lost games because of a homer, but I have found that real teams do start swinging for the fences to gain that run(s). The CPU pitching can be hit or miss, but if i see their reliever is rather wild, I'll wait unit the pitch location is in my favor, but that does not result in a homerun often.
I do have my sliders adjusted to make it what I feel truer to life.

I don't sim any games either but with simulation gameplay in manage mode the game is supposed to be realistic. Instead it's home run derby. On casual gameplay that's fine but no simulation gameplay.

I have mine set on simulation mode. I am not seeing those problems, not saying you are not.
