Sorry but I have a question about bots
-
I'm not going to pretend to be tech savvy enough to understand how these things work, how to combat them, or if they can even be minimized, much less stopped.
What the bots are doing to the marketplace is absolutely absurd. Imagine not being a long-time sucker who buys the game every year no matter what. So you decided to pick the game up this year and this (among 10000 other issues) is what you're introduced to.
I'm just wondering if they can be stopped? I mean, hasn't Captcha been around for ages? Does SDS even care since it's all but eliminated any margins for those who like to flip? I don't flip but on the rare occasion that I want a card ASAP it's just laughable to see 5 orders go in above mine before the screen even refreshes.
Can anyone with a good grasp of how these bots work answer any of the above? Thanks in advance

@Ch-76-1908_PSN As I see it, the only true solution would be to remove access to the market from both the website and the mobile app and force everyone to do everything market wise via the console. Which would then have everyone complaining because doing the market via console is slow and cumbersome compared to the website and app. Though if they removed it from the app and left the website with the Captcha, it would more than likely reduce the number of bots by a large amount, since I feel that the app is the real enabler of the bots.
There are other things, like putting a time limit between order entries, i.e. having to wait a minute or more between order entries or adjustments, but that just slows everyone down also and are not really a solution.

I live on my app marketplace throughout the day. I’d gladly give it up to clean this mess up. I pulled a card last night I didn’t need. Everytime I posted it for sale the bots went wild on it. I finally gave up and sold it now and avoided the aggravation. Which only feeds the bot. Fix yo [censored], SDS.

@Ch-76-1908_PSN Only solution is to discontinue the community market companion app IMO. Make the community market available by console only. More inconvenient for sure, but I'll take that if it means a fairer market. Madden dropped their app a while ago (maybe they have it back again, not sure) because of this same issue.

@Ch-76-1908_PSN I believe some of complaints people have about this game are overblown. However , this is particular shouldn’t ever have been a problem. I’m not much of an investor but I do know that stubs take time to build and if you can’t really flip effectively you really won’t make any real difference. It’s either their making you flip harder, buy stubs, and just make peace with it.
-
@SiberiaTigerCub_PSN they still have a companion app for Mut.
-
@ApolloZ_99_MLBTS They removed it for a few years before. I haven't touched that game in about a decade now.
-
I’m not the most knowledgeable person in regards to coding and such. But couldn’t captchas help? Or have the scumbags found a way around that with their precious little bots too?
-
@SiberiaTigerCub_PSN yea they added back either this year or last and it’s not too bad
-
@LHUBison58_XBL The smartphone apps don't have captchas. I have just stopped bothering with collecting the cards now. I have moved off playing Diamond Dynasty mode altogether now because of the bots, and cheaters. SDS doesn't care.
-
I dont like mass flippers, but the bots are worse. Anything needed to stop market bots should be done.
-
@SiberiaTigerCub_PSN I know the app doesn’t have captchas. I’m on it all day. Instead of social media, I tend to my cards and market. Would ADDING captchas help? I have iOS apps that have you do a captcha before logging in. I hate the darn things, but could it help?
-
@LHUBison58_XBL I'd rather use the market on the console than dealing with captcha's. Just remove the marketplace website and app. I'm fine with that solution.
-
@SiberiaTigerCub_PSN and I’d rather have to deal with captchas and have the app while waiting in doctor’s offices and at other instances. Either way we both want them to do SOMETHING about this instead of banning you from chat in the stream for asking about it, while they brag about the newest sassy lefty and the packs they want to sell you.
-
@LHUBison58_XBL There remains remote console access. That will work better. Every time I have to sell a card, I have to do 8-10 captcha's per transaction.

The Madden community complains about ALOT, I mean almost constantly, but they do not complain about bots in their auction house. I’ve been over there for two years and have yet to see a post in it.
So WHATEVER they are doing, SDS needs to do.
Unless, of course, SDS “agrees/supports” the bots in order to keep the market in check. (Honestly, that’s where I lean since the technology to control bot behavior surely exists and is easily obtainable)
-
I subscribe to the theory that many have that SDS is in fact the ones running the bots, to keep marketplace margins non-existent. I would not be surprised if it comes to light that SDS studios was engaged in anti-consumer practices involving their micro-transactions and will face a FTC complaint and lawsuit at some point. For me, I have withdrawn permanently from playing Diamond Dynasty and consider it nothing other than a pure scam. And a scam that does in fact involve real world money.

The market does weird stuff - chris sale was down to 60k this morning, now back to 87k...the rapid heating and cooling on some cards seems fishy
