Online vs. CPU difficulty

Diamond Quest is pretty worthwhile right now - you can make 30k per run. Play a full day of DQ and you can rack up 200k stubs. Yet, it feels like so many people would rather do anything other than DQ.
-
@rubicante23_PSN ppl are saying it’s annoying cause the sliders are different + some bad luck with the stadium rewards. I haven’t tried yet but I remember this being an issue for me at times last year (the first three this year were fine tho)

*if you are good at the game or resort to cheese
If you just play through the moments and then do the stadium game son all star you need to pray that RNG is in your favor. 2 runs. A total of two failed moments across the two runs. 4 won stadium games on all star. Only one Michael Young to show for it.
Then I went into mini seasons (after easily winning those stadium games on all star) and had a 5 inning game, a 4-3 loss because the CPU torched Fingers for no apparent reason, a 5 inning game, and then a game I quit in the 4th. These were on veteran. I dont know if Ive ever had a stretch that bad and its the first time I ever quit a CPU game. Wasnt a rage quit, just felt my time was being wasted and didnt feel like playing anymore.
Im sure the next game Ill put up a 10 spot but I don't know when Ill feel like playing.
-
And I honestly dont have a problem with the loss, I wish the CPU scored more. Just in a way where it doesn't feel so random. It was the other games of just waiting around until the game finally decided to give me a hit
-
It’s because it IS random, and even more super random in that game mode
Don’t waste your time unless you cheese like the pros or cheat
I’ve had runners at first and second, perfect perfect into a diving 3rd basebans glove to bounce to the pitchers head and like a yoyo triple play.
[censored] like that happens in diamond quest/showdown like it’s scripted that - you’re out
Empty bases 12 outs left let’s go!

Those are two different cats. But If you don’t play the modes it’s not as simple as “I can beat the conquest maps on legend I can do it in my sleep” Those are mlb teams with bronzes commons and a couple diamonds sprinkled in. When you play the diamond teams in MS they can most certainly hit on legend. The will crush the ball on legend. I was first 10 to Edgar playing only on legend. They hit the ball lmao.
If a .380 hitter online and beats every moment in DQ, plays on legend at 88% and doesn’t get the reward. The mode is too hard. One cat can realize how dumb this sounds to cats that hit .230 online and will never complete every moment in a run or win on legend.

@DeleteyourTTVBTW_MLBTS The mode isn't "too hard" - it just has an element of randomness. Not sure why that bothers people so much - every dang thing in this game has an element of RNG. The ball that comes off your bat, even if you perfect swing. Your chance of pulling anything from any pack.
This game is RNG city, which is what real baseball is too. But for some reason, it only bothers people with DQ.
PS: Legend is the only difficulty where CPU can score. But, if you're regularly giving up more than 3 or 4 in a miniseason game, you're not pitching to them properly - the CPU script is set up to be really bad at some pitches. Like, cutter away from batter is a pretty hard pitch for a human to hit - CPU rips it. Breaking ball low and away gets ripped by humans often - CPU hates it. You're also probably not subbing pitchers out as needed - pitcher energy/confidence plays a huge role, and you need to get the best matchups based on their upcoming hitters (CPU doesn't pinch-hit properly either).

Legend is the only difficulty where CPU can score.
that could not be more false i played a few cpu games on rookie and i won 1 game and lost 4 games by 5+ runs while i am painting the corners.
-
@AppleLemon560_MLBTS Lol sorry so the CPU can’t hit or now that your talking to someone better than you they are only allowed to score 3 or like maybe 4 on legend in that specific mini season you haven’t played yet lmao? If there is that much RNG in DQ when a WS player finished every single moment it’s too hard. I dunno what part was hard to understand nobody needed a RNg lesson. It bothers them in that mode because it’s tied to literal stubs and rewards? How dumb are you actually that you needed to ask that? I’ll try some cutters in thanks for the tips Boss man.

@mhenry23_PSN He can’t win online so he wanted to come here and claim a few victories he posted off as “questions” just to correct everybody lmao. Surely a banned account when I go check right now lol
-
@rubicante23_PSN yes it is extremely worth while rn with the cityscapes map.

I played through the cityscape mini season yesterday. How incredibly boring. I dont know how some of you can play through these over and over and over again just to obtain some virtual baseball cards. Playing against the cpu is so boring. The same thing over again. Great contact that always turn into fly balls that hang. Cpu that makes every defensive play. Cpu cant hit. Cpu that throws more balls than the most toxic online player. I dont get it. Seemed like they made these modes to have to play through it multiple times to get all the rewards. Just eeeek. Some of you offline players need to suck it up and try to get better and play online. Play your way ok, I have sludge through mini seasons and conquest and dq to complete this program. I get one card online in events.

Oh stop...we are coming in here saying cpu hits well on rookie? For real? Cpu hits ok on legend if they have a good team - cannot hit on any other mode

Can not hit consistently. They will be shutout 85% of the time, and have a fluke HR (common or 99, doesnt matter) 14% of the time and every once in a blue moon they will get a few runs in a bunch. Thats fine for rookie.
The problem is, veteran does the same. I feel veteran should be scoring in 50% of its games but really the only difference is they have slightly longer at bats for the same result.
