People should be punished for playing at coors. The inning progress rewards are super lame, though.
-
@rubicante23_PSN People should be able to choose where they want to play. I’m sure there are people that hate the park you pick. That’s how this works. You get to choose half the time and deal with other people’s choices.

Is the XP we get at the end of games all we get, and is the inning by inning XP counted in that total at the end?
I ask, because 2900 XP for putting up a 20-burger at Coors is ridiculous! They very quietly nuked game-earned XP a couple years ago by half...was never a fan of that.

‘better get your a** online’ - SDS, probably
I laughed far too hard at this comment, thank you
-
@On_a_Power_Trip_PSN yeah as a somewhat competitive player and a very competitive person who lives on ranked in this game this cheating problem has never had me less motivated to play ranked. Once these clowns get cleaned up the game will hopefully get better.

I ask, because 2900 XP for putting up a 20-burger at Coors is ridiculous! To be fair, I dont think winning 20-0 should be rewarding significantly more xp than winning 1-0. Performance should matter to a degree, but I would rather see things like repeatable xp goals for the various modes.
In fact, this would help solve the issue of no rewards for online play once the multiplayer track ran out if there were ways to earn chunks of xp and get wheel spins that way. The wheel rewards arent good enough that they need to be so stingy with letting people get spins.

@Teak2112_MLBTS Strongly disagree about the difference between 1-0 and 20-0. Difficulty should matter more though. All star and above should provide significantly more xp.
-
All star and above should provide significantly more xp.
It does I believe. just not as much as PXP does. Correct me if I'm wrong...because I could very well be
-
@Sarge1387_PSN I don’t think they actually tell us how xp works. It doesn’t feel like it. Online xp should be significantly more too. It should scale like pxp.
-
Time should be the biggest factor. Either innings or mode completion. Rewarding someone for playing at a created stadium, or even coors, is asinine.
I agree difficulty should matter too, something like 50% rookie, 75% veteran, 100% all star, HoF 125%, Legend 150%
-
Rewarding someone for playing at a created stadium
Fair...but what if aforementioned created stadium is a legit one not just minimum walls with max elevation?
-
The other thing with the already excessive emphasis put on offense and HRs in general is it is a disincentive to play with non meta cards. Should someone really progress slower because they want to play with Topps Now or a theme team instead of loading up 9 switch hitters and going to town?
Game design should be centered around the fact that this is a hobby and fun needs to be the driving factor, not sweatiness (not that a 35-0 dismantling of the rockies is sweaty, but still...).
WC is the place to try hard with your god squad. Grinding should be in general a chill experience, albeit with some incentive for higher difficulty (at the very least so the people who play on Legend to try to keep online timing don't get penalized either)
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS I see your point, but skill should be the most important factor. You could definitely do that with difficulty though.
-
Also, playing online is already more rewarding in terms of xp than playing offline so skill/challenge is already a big factor in getting xp and I wouldn't suggest that goes away.
I think most of us non SDS employees would agree that xp in general sucks in this current iteration
