It feels like diamond dynasty is dying
-
With the direction this game has gone the last few years moving towards a money grab, and the lack of content this year, it feels like there’s just less effort being put in to make this game mode as great as it used to be. I’ve been playing since 2015, and it currently just feels stale.
I have no idea what the direction for this season is. The WBC content was great to start the year, but it’s been over a month now of basically nothing to do except WBC mini seasons over and over again. There are too many bugs to count that still haven’t been fixed. And it just feels boring.
The old diamond dynasty games had your attention continuously. This year feels as if they’re not even trying to keep our attention.
It’s just sorta sad. Personally, I figured this might be my last year playing intensely anyway with our family plans, but it’s a bummer that this is what it is.

As long as the rampant cheating continues to grow and spread with no fix it's going to die and die quickly. Eventually the ratio of cheaters to non cheaters will be such that it will be cheater vs cheater.
-
Agreed. I think this might be the last year for a lot of us. The bad is adding up big time.

For so many years, SDS neglected game modes that were not DD. Now, it seems their quest to shortchange the title has extended to even DD. Would be nice if the leadership at SDS took note and ordered a change of focus toward customer service and keeping the game at the top of technology. But, assuming there are executives left at SDS with that goal, I seriously doubt they have the freedom to implement it.
-
@Barfy-Bad-Gas_XBL yeah it’s nuts like man yfk leaked 40k cheaters.
-
@Barfy-Bad-Gas_XBL All you need to do for a loose reference is look at the current shambles MP in Call of Duty is in. Once they went MTX heavy and the cheaters became more and more prevalent, it went to hell in a hurry.

WBC Mini seasons and Conquest maps are IMHO the best for grinding right now. I'm trying to get through the classic mini season to get the xp out of it and it's horrificly bad. Dot city, Kyle Schwarber on one of the teams that I was playing, sprinted from the warning track to shallow left field and made a spectacular diving catch that I tried to bloop on a 0-2 count over the shortstop head. I quit that game and took the loss. Turned off the game and PS5 and went to the gym to hit some shoulders. Didn't come back to the game for couple days after that. Got tired of dots super human fielding from a DH and that mini season has more bugs than Al Capone had on him before he went down for tax evasion. Terrible!

It speaks volumes the state of this game/company is currently in when you have a complete monopoly on the market, and still hardly anyone wants to play said product.

I agree, such a shame.

What's worse is these guys don't even have a monopoly. EA does with the NFL; these guys are just lucky. No other company sees the value in acquiring the rights to an MLB license. 2K Sports had a year on their contract and simply gave up back in 2014. If that doesn't tell you how these companies perceive baseball and video game baseball in general, hopefully Konami, of all companies, will step up and give us a decent product. It's pretty sad when I have to say that.

@TripleH-4481_PSN I was hesitant on getting this years game after playing the previous 6 years. I ended up caving just due to boredom during the time this game drops in March.
These threads have been popping up lately, I felt the same way for a couple weeks.
This is the first year I’ve lost interest and stopped playing as early as April.
Mid April I got burnt out playing mini seasons over and over.
Weekend Classic was mostly the final straw. I was placed in the wrong division and started my leaderboard with a negative score.
My final straw was the Miggy Collection and how pointless the endless grind for collections is.
Last years game was fun because it had new modes:
- DQ was a blast to grind and fun way to achieve collections.
- collection rewards (Roger, Beltran) and new legends (manny, Ted) were fire
- weekend classic brought good rewards to ranked.
This year:
- DQ has been castrated
- collection rewards are MID at best, and a waste of stubs at worst.
- weekend classic is still broken and unplayable with this years pitching.
The show ‘26 has 0 redeemable qualities. The only slight positive is parallels mods but even those can’t fix the gameplay.
-
I hear ya and I get it. I’ve played DD since 2020 and the show itself since the original back in 2006 and this is really bad. Losing interest at warp speed. What a disaster on every level this game has been.
-
Im with you on content lacking. Its hard to blame SDS for the cheating epidemic - no game is handling that well now, no matter how big their budget is. And if they ever start really trying to handle it, theyre going to make lots of errors that may be just as bad as not handling it.
-
Ultimate team modes are dying because they really can’t do anything new, you’re just grinding to get cards, and then you get a good team, then the season ends and the next one happens. Content is either good bad to people personally depending on if there is a card you want or if it’s card you don’t. Today, you could log in and if you want the headliner it’s an okay day, if you have no interest, then it’s wait until the next drop.
-
Its crazy how much the game was pushing things out in 2023. Content every tuesday, wednesday, and Friday. The smallest program of the year was bigger than the Jackie program that they were gushing over.
I thought 2024 was bad, but this stretch we are in now is brutal.
-
@jcassaro44_PSN I agree with this generally. Problem is in this game’s case they’re actually rolling back on content (with the major exception of the WBC drop that carried the game’s first month and yes, was much bigger than 23’s) this year.
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS I enjoyed 23.

We ended up with 31 more WBC cards this year, and the WBC mini season is..well its profitable but I love playing Mexico with Brazil uniforms while having stats from who knows where resulting in a win that doesnt reward me with a win. ANd by me I mean of course the Baltimore Orioles.
Snark aside, I was praising the content through New Threads. But boy have they fallen off a cliff.
I think they replaced all the missing content with bugs instead.
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS Launch content was solid. It’s been a complete disaster since.

Id imagine their understanding is that boredom is a massive mover of stub sales and pack openings....years ago packs became content and we are now left with that....buy packs if you're bored...never know might hit a big one...lol
