As an offline player, I get the hint

@LuvMyXBOX_XBL im 46 not much younger than you. I know. Not going to talk politics with you buddy. This is an offline vs online video game discussion. Calm down..

@LuvMyXBOX_XBL im 46 not much younger than you. I know.
you don't get it do you. the older generation said the same thing about your generation that you're saying about today's youth. see how that works? see how that divides people?
You seem to be one of those guys who need to get the last word in so I'll stop and you can respond.
-
@LuvMyXBOX_XBL have a good night. Wasn't talking about youth. You just assumed I meant youth. I mean everyone who doesnt want to try online and get better. I changed it to this offline topic is soft is that better for you? Im entitled to my opinion just like everyone else.

You guys are Scared of losing, scared of getting better, scared of competition.
Literally no one is "scared" of that. People just dont like to waste their time playing someone whos gonna run the second they give up a HR or a big hit. No one wants to sit in a manufactured freeze off just to take an L. And no one wants to play people who seemingly have perfect PCI placement and timing no matter where the pitch goes.
Too many of yall have ways to circumvent the competition aspect of online play for a guaranteed win and its a joke. You must be scared of losing....scared to get better....scared of competition or something.
-
This thread is bonkers. There are reasons to dislike online play (lag, cheese, cheating, meta is OP, and it often feels like a slow slog) and there are reasons to get bored with offline play (the CPU isn't a great baseball mind - its an easily abused AI script and theres not much challenge).
You dont really need to get deeper than that. Both of the issues above could be improved to better both experiences.
-
@NotesOfJohn_PSN its not bad to be an offline player. Its just a little weak. Unless you physically cannot do it..i get that. You guys are Scared of losing, scared of getting better, scared of competition. I know the toxic players and the cheating sucks. Thats really only above the 800 rank levels, and you do not have to play them, they really dont come up very often. Dd is an online mode. Go play franchise if you want to beat up on a cpu everyday.
I can assure you no one cares if you have a losing record. If anything i respect it. Shows heart to lose and keep trying. Half of you want to give up. Its to hard wah wah, im not good. Give me back my friendly games vs the cpu.. let me play mini seasons 4 hours a day.
lock in! Try to get better! I get destroyed from time to time as well. This generation is so soft. Btw im 16 and 11. Not very good. Some of you needed to hear this.
wow....so you can read into the minds of every offline player?
the reason I don't play online is because of my past experience with online players who exploit the game to win at all costs.
See when I play this game, I want to play BASEBALL. I want to go against someone who manages and plays BASEBALL. I don't want to play someone who keeps taking extra bases because they know the defensive player gets stuck in an animation so it's easy to take the extra base. So to me online is a headache I can live without. I sometimes run into other players who actually have a baseball IQ online but it's far and few between. But at least I know vs the CPU, the chances that the CPU will play and manage the game like a real baseball manager vs an online player is higher.
And I don't give a [censored] about 700 rank or 800 rank....it means nothing to me. If I play online, all I am looking for is to play someone else that has a baseball mind. To me , playing against another human being is a battle of baseball minds. That's fun to me. If I get someone to play like that I don't care about wins or losses. I care for a fun experience. Baseball wit vs baseball wit. But against those who exploit the game, they usually have low baseball IQ. but they have a high videogame winning at all costs IQ.
And that's why this game is going to become like 2K, or all the EA Ultimate team modes. you're attitude is exactly why they're leaning that way. And the ones who care about playing baseball will lose at the end to greed.
And you're bashing a generation as soft because of a videogame mode? that's sort of not smart.
FWIW I haven't really run in to much, if any, of that so far this year. For the most part my online games have been pretty normal. Might be worth giving it another shot. I'm on Playstation with cross play off, not sure if that makes any difference.
-
@Pergo_MLBTS
I am not a good online player but turning off crossplay has made a world of difference. I went from probably bottom 1% to only below average. I highly recommend it.I'm on Xbox. Against other platforms, I would literally go entire games without putting the ball in play. I completed 1st inning multi player, all the events and almost done with 2nd inning without crossplay. I have zero chance of going 5-1 in BR so hopefully, they'll add another way to finish 2nd inning.
I still lose most games but can at least barrel up a few balls on occasion now.
All that being said, I wholeheartedly agree that I shouldn't be forced to play online to keep up PXP wise.

This is exactly why I avoided online for the longest time, WAAC players are insufferable. If I see that kinda stuff, I'll bail. Take the W, I couldn't care less. I'm just there to get the program done, but to have fun doing so as well

The one thing you are undefeated at is being a duech bag.

It’s not weak being an offline player it’s a preference. As an offline player I play the game to relax not compete, that’s a choice. I have no time or patience for online bs. I imagine many offline DD players feel the same way. We love baseball and use the game as a way to chill not sweat it out and scratch our competitive itch. If that’s your thing then you do you but don’t put others down based on how they choose to play the game. At the end of the day it’s video game baseball not real life so no one actually cares how good or bad we are at the game except ourselves.
-
@DrBear100_PSN lol, weak bro. Get online and play. Calling me names because you are scared of a little competition.
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN playing against a cpu is not real baseball. The cpu is easy to exploit. Real baseball is played against real players with real competition. Its just a game. Play how you want. Not putting anyone down. Just calling it .. a weaker mindset. Entitled to my opinion..its not a preference, its because you think you are not good at the game and would rather play vs a cpu. You are all better than you think.
-
Guys just block the "online" troll, he's got nothing better to do than harrass people from mommie's basement while he eats his 8th bag of skittles and drinks his 28th mountain dew bought from mommie's SNAP benefits.
-
I understand playing others is more difficult but choosing not to do it has nothing to do with that. It’s the toxic bs online, plus exploitation of the meta, plus me not wanting to do it to compete but to relax after a long day. I’m competitive in life but not in this game. We all have our opinions and should be able to play how we want and unlock the worthless virtual baseball cards along the way.
-
I used to be a competitive bowler. I carried a 200 average, bowled collegiately, multiple leagues and tournaments each month. You know what I didn't do? Go over to the 80 average bowlers on the lane next to me just playing to have fun, and tell them "you guys are weak". That's what maturity looks like.

@tripleh-4481_psn couldnt agree with you more. Wish I could upvote your posts multiple times!
@ditka06_mlbts disagree with you very strongly. Very very strongly.
-
Look into new DRM policy by Sony everybody. It’s really messed up and might not affect DD players but someone that plays franchise without internet connection that buys the Show or any other game digitally after End of March is required to get online every thirty days for verification for a game you paid for! And being your primary system doesn’t override!
-
Supposedly this is because you can mod your system with a star wars game so now everyone must suffer. And my internet goes out lot in my area with storms. And if decide I wanna play a digital game and haven’t had my system on in awhile I’m outta luck. Also the troops stationed without internet!
-
This is a forum for a mode were you always need to be online. Go post it somewhere relevant

@Teak2112_MLBTS just thought folks might wanna know since it was labeled offline but I won’t come back on here. Excuse me for trying to help others!
