Why are rookie and veteran so hard this year?!
-
@markemark_NSW way more. I know others probably put up 20 runs a game in 9 innings vs the CPU. Not me. lol
My goal was always try to get one run per inning against the CPU. I can’t do that very often this year. But against the WBC teams, I can put up 16 to 20 runs a game.

I appreciate your input! How do you know if the TV is no longer in game mode? And how can it be fixed? I’m using a Roku.It will be on your tv settings. I'm not sure how a Roku works with a game. On my Vizio I open my tv menu and find display settings, it's there mixed in with "bright" "sports" and other display options. Most modern tv's should have a game mode somewhere in their options. I'd imagine even some of the newer ones do it automatically now. It's comical on some tv's when it's off, like literaly the split second you see the ball leave the pitchers hand it's already in the glove.

I dont know if you'd really be encouraged to play more if Rookie were way easier. You need to figure out how to deal with the "shenanigans" if you're going to be able to play this game. Batting in The Show is way harder than anything in any other sports game - that's what it comes down to.
I always found the hardest thing in a sports game is being able to switch to a DB then get an INT in Madden. For some reason I just could not get the hang of it or get the timing down. I could do it in first person mode when playing the own character mode (forgot what it was called) but top down I would always end up jumping the wrong direction.

I also try to average at least one run per inning…or at least I did last year on veteran. I’ll try WBC 9 innings and see if I can rack up stats for TA any faster that way. Thanks for the tip! -
@markemark_NSW if you struggle with hitting (and it's not tv settings) my biggest advice would be to stay away from Conquest and look to mini-seasons/vs cpu for the stat hunting. If you absolutely have to play a Conquest (for rewards) do it with the best squad you can field and expect a lot of 1 - 0 games. Play small ball, steal a lot, don't expect HRs. Also make sure your global settings are set to "casual" and "rookie". Those settings affect affect mini-seasons/vs. cpu and I think RTTS, but do not change Conquest games at all (which are set at "simulation").
Oh and, GO ANGELS!

When I try to restart the WBC mini, how do I select 9 innings? I had been playing 3 innings but I haven’t seen the option to choose 9 innings since I first played at launch back in March.
-
@markemark_NSW Don't restart after finishing a season. Back out completely then start a new season from the Mini-seasons selection screen (should show 3),then it should give you a popup asking if you want 3 innings or 9.
-
Do you fully restart from the main MS screen? Meaning don’t just select restart after the championship, go back to the MS menu and hold X till it restarts, then go back in and it’ll give you the options available for 3 or 9 inning game.

I dont know if it is a hitting tip that did this but all star has been slightly harder this year. AND I UPGRADED FROM SWITCH TO PS5 so the fps is suppose to make hitting in this difficulty easier. No, its harder instead. I noticed that there are way less exciting rewards if you are an offline player compared to the online players that gets it all with little to no effort.

They definitely took away the easy FB, FB, slider away strikeout thing that has always been so easy. Now the CPU will spit on 0-2 and 1-2 sliders half an inch off the plate lol. Just got to be a bit more creative
-
I’ve found they tend to chase low inside sinkers more than before

@Precisionist99_XBL
Changing the global settings to casual and rookie seemed to help. Thanks for that! scored almost one run per inning over four 3-inning games on WBC mini after the change. Haven’t tried CPU yet. there’s hope for me yet! -

@precisionist99_xbl
I see the way to change it now. I’m assuming you can change to other another pool that way also, right? Thanks again! -

This hasn't been my experience so far. I still do this against the CPU on Veteran and strike out just about every batter I face.

I finally got that O'Day from TA, and struck out 8 in a row on Veteran. They were flailing!
When i did the 42 CQ map, the Dodgers were hellacious. Everything they hit fell in. Every ball down the line went through. Sliders were cranked for that map, although I played on Vet. -
All Star is actually easier for me than Veteran a lot of the time. Just need to be patient and not swing at everything.
-
For me, veteran is just too easy (I blow teams out every game) and All-Star is slightly too hard. I often win or lose by a run or two.
