It seems like more and more people are finding the 2025/2026 inning structure lacking.

Also, I think a lot of people like the first few weeks of the game because its fresh: so many possibilities

In some ways, the sets and seasons concepts made sense. In execution, however....

Here is what I would do:
    -Inning length: 8 weeks.

-Have a fixed inning cap on overall for cards released
Lets use a cap of 89 for inning 1. There should be a TA round each inning at 2 under cap (87). Henchmen 85. Inning bosses, inning collections and WS rewards should be the only thing at 89 (or perhaps things like extreme or new long term grinds).
Inning 2 would raise that cap to 92 so the new TA round would start at 90, but be designed to be a grind so you wouldnt be replacing cards for a while.

-Bring back inning collections (just dont call them sets or people will freak out).

-O Captain my Captain: get creative. Bring back the cornerstone captains. bring back some fo the wackier ones. Oh and maybe a captain that "use x TA cards from inning 2 buffs prior inning TA cards" or other ways to keep older, or maybe cards that would otherwise be 'collection fodder' relevant. Early on in an inning a divisional captain could provide a mild boost. Then transition into some more specialized ones. Yes metas will form, they always do. Just give people options and hopefully multiple metas can form

-Weekend classic: every 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 8th week. Maybe don't use exclusive cards if the frequency is increased, but people would play for packs and those LS diamond cards. But drop content these weeks too, don't leave offliners hanging. People play Bronze WC even though the rewards are [censored], I don't think SDS has to worry about people not queueing.

    In short:
Make innings longer and give them more 'meat' with things like TA
Make boss rewards (and WS cards) feel special
Try to allow for more excitement with new innings with a bunch of potentially good cards to work for
Give us lots of captains to promote lineup diversity (hopefully) and make more cards useful

Interesting concept. Only thing I see that is "wrong", and this is coming from someone that doesnt play Ranked, is the WS Rewards.

Make them a point, or two, higher than the Innings cards.

If people are good enough to make WS; they should get better cards.

Maybe even go by twos. 85/87, 87/89, 89/91, etc.
