MLB the show 27 player base
-
Based off all the stuff i have read on here i would say that sds would lose about 15% of its player base. what's your take on this
-
That sounds about right for every year not just 27.
They replace the yearly loss with first-time buyers and those that haven't bought in 3 or 4 years.
Par for the course. -
@Graeves-_PSN
im new so i didnt know -
I’m done, unless massive changes happen in RTTS to fix what is broken and add things we’ve requested for years. The outright lie about secondary positions cost them any future purchases from me
I have deluxe editions every year since 07. When they still made it for PSP I bought for console and handheld. For me that’s PSP,PS2,PS3,PS4,XBOX ONE,SERIES X. Didn’t buy for my PS5 since wife uses it to -lay an exclusive and I prefer XBOX controllers. Sony controller just feels to small in my hand.

Well, they lost me! For what that's worth, and I had purchased every title in a row since MLB 21 as my first game on an X-Box console my son bought for me as a birthday gift.
Prior to that, I had purchased several titles on the Playstation series and consoles before even that.
I repeat that I find it noteworthy that the last time SDS cared to publicly release their sales data was for MLB 21, and that showed about a 15% slide from the all-time high water mark with MLB 19. SDS released information to the media that initial sales of MLB 25 were excellent, but then all sales data dried up, which tells me the sales fell into sharp decline.
I am more than confident that if SDS had good news to report on sales data, it wouldn't keep it a secret.

The first time that I saw people complain about the game's graphics was 23. Wonder if that set a precedent for the future.
-
@Player99_MLBTS People have been complaining about the graphics since at least 2014 when the first PS4 version of The Show came out. Doesn't matter what improves in a game (and especially if the game spans multiple generations of console), that's the hill that some people choose to die on just for the opportunity to be negative.

@Graeves-_PSN
im new so i didnt knowPeople complain on here and other forms of social media every year about how terrible the game is and that they're not buying the next one.
But then they play it all year even though its terrible and buy the next one and continue the cycle.

@red_ted_is_back_psn Was actually playing MLB: 14 The Show a few days ago, the graphics were behind on that era. Side note: this was Jeter's final MLB the show game as an active player.

I dont think the initial sales data maters, its all about the micro transaction income. Many players at launch were streaming opening packs and spending 1k to 5k usd just on opening night which is worth about 10 to 100 people. And thats just them, think about the silent whales. The average player isnt on social media or these forums =p
There wouldnt be programs for sale for cheating in the game if it was dieing for 100's a month for both market boards and ingame stuff.
Micro transaction games you really cant judge on initial sales if the whales will keep being whales. As long as there are little fish around for them to eat they will stay. Monopolies suck, tbh i want the Saudies to buy the rights at this point.
