In Road to the Show, created players could be selected to represent their country based on performance, overall rating, or popularity. The tournament could take place during a set point in the season or every few years, similar to how the real World Baseball Classic works. It would also be great if players had the option to choose which country they want to represent (for example, based on heritage or personal preference), adding more customization and connection to their player.
For Franchise Mode, the World Baseball Classic could be integrated into the calendar every few seasons. MLB players could temporarily leave their teams to join their national teams, which would add strategy and realism as teams adjust their lineups and rotations. It could also include injuries, player fatigue, and breakout performances that impact the rest of the MLB season.
The tournament itself could include real national teams, authentic uniforms, and a bracket-style format with group play and elimination rounds. Adding features like commentary, crowd atmosphere, and country-based rivalries would make it feel like a major international event.
