You can get 30 of the required... 25.... points needed without playing an online game. Stop whining.
20 points are online only. What are you even lobbying for? All 50?
Yes, every stat grind should be online or offline.
So you want to go back to 50 saves per team , 500 abs, 150 hits, 75 hr or whatever it was? Hell no. I play offline mostly but enjoy ranked season when I’ve caught up on the TA grind and these missions are perfect. Both sides win. You don’t even have to play online to get Zimmerman, maybe you just can’t win on all star and want some easy “ 5 at bats with national players” vs the cpu on rookie type missions.
Who said anything about changing the quantity? If online players can get 10 points by getting 10 hits with Nats, offline players should be able to get 10 points by getting 10 hits with Nats. It's that simple. And they should be for fully completed games, not people who "hit and quit."

Franchise is a poor substitute for DD. With DD I enjoy the process of acquiring and building my team via programs and such whereas being a GM holds no appeal to me. Besides which, let's say someone took your advice weeks ago, started a Yankees franchise, and loaded his team with Yankee legends in the game. He's halfway through the first season with it now, and just recently SDS added Tino Martinez to the game. How does he add his favorite player growing up to his existing franchise? He can't.
If it's meant for online only, they can come out and explicitly say that it's not for singleplayer enjoyment. Until then, I'll keep asking for things I can do with my team.

Tfw DD is designed to be pvp so you'll never get the offline online experience you crave so badly
Show me one place where SDS says DD is designed to be PvP.
In the place where half of its game modes (RS, BR, Events) are all pvp, last time I checked offline people got franchise, rtts, MTO, and homerun derby
If they were aiming for offline players to be playing DD over anything else then almost everything would be do-able offline
That must be why Conquest is 30 stars and gives you free packs and they just came out with a brand new offline mode this year (Showdown).

I fall in the group that plays both offline and online.
I will admit I do play mostly offline. I haven't touched events this year b/c I do not care for the rewards in this event.
I played enough ranked seasons to get 10 wins for the program stars and I stopped there. I am competitive but not to the levels of most of the online enthusiasts. I enjoy the online content and I also recognize that I am not an elite player and that is OK. Heck, I am painfully average and there is nothing wrong with that. Now on to this Zimmerman issue:
I got 25 "Zimm Points" playing strictly offline. No exchanges, just playing.
I did the 5 moments for 15 pts. They were fun and a few were challenging, The 11 hits/4 XBH in 7 games was particularly fun.
I then loaded up a team with all Nats players (I used LS Soto, not the FOTF card). I then played a couple of conquest games to get the 10 RBIs plus 5 Zimm points and I knocked out my daily pitching mission for more program stars.
Finally, I played the Nats on All Star for the last 5 Zimm points.
I got the Zimm card without playing online or exchanging a card by doing what 99% of offline players do everyday.
I have no problem with online stat missions being "easier" since online stats are much harder to come by.
SDS did this by making offline players get 10 RBIs instead of hits with Nats players for online players. This mode can be enjoyed both online and offline. We should focus our energy more on getting SDS to fix the game we all love, instead of fighting amongst ourselves on who DD is catered to.

I don't have a problem with the Zimmerman program at all. What I do have a problem with is that once I've obtained the Zimmerman card, what exactly am I supposed to do with it?
The only meaningful singleplayer mode that uses our DD collections is Conquest. For those who like Conquest, that's fine. But they shouldn't expect everyone to be happy with three-inning road games. DD is a mode where we're very strongly encouraged to customize our team to our heart's content, including uniforms, but in Conquest I will never see my home uniforms. I will never use my stadium cards. I will never get the thrill of a walk-off victory.
I also dislike the only way to get Team Affinity points with our card collections, which is the innings grind. First of all, an innings grind is a background task where there's very little to do for foreground tasks. Without things to get those innings done in the course of, it's just mindless. Second, to get the 50 points needed for the primary reward, I need do something that falls on a spectrum from "play 30+ 9-inning games with a team loaded with cards other than the ones I actually want to use" and "play 2500 innings with one card from that team". No point on that spectrum is acceptable, especially when the card I get as a reward for all that will only get in the way of obtaining team affinity for other teams. I floated an idea I'd like to see here:
I've also advocated for an offline season mode, which I tweeted to SDS in early April of last year. Custom leagues is close, yet so far away - a Custom Leagues variant that doesn't require a using a loophole to be played singleplayer and counts as DD for mission purposes (with fixed sliders so it's not exploitable) would be almost exactly what I want, but that's not something we would see in the framework of MLB 20. What could be added in MLB 20 would have to be some sort of repeatable mission set, most likely.

Yes I did it in under an hour without playing anything online. Not that I don’t play online but I was to drunk last night so stuck with offline stuff
-
I think that the way they set it up was really good. You can get the player card without venturing into online play. Kudos to SDS for a comprise.
Although, if they made an online stat requirement, why couldn't they make an offline stat that was twice as much? It wouldnt affect the online players at all, and the offline players dont want to play online anyway, so it's not like it would have a negative effect on any online players.
-
I'm an offline player only and I won't touch franchise. Comparing them are like comparing apples to watermelons. Gaining stars, completing missions, team affinity and player moments are all fun to play, even offline.
To the OP, I understand that there are ways to grind stats online and not offline. But, this program definitely isn't "unfair" to offline players.
-
What are you talking about? There are only 2 online missions and you can get to 25 stars without doing any of them.

This is 100% correct. I remember the Show 17 had Team affinities tied to beating each team on 3 different levels (Rookie, Veteran & All Star). So that would be 90 full nine inning games for offline play. Stat grinds were fun, but the were abused by those playing the Rockies on Rookie non stop.
I get your point though, there isn't a full 9 inning game offline experience to rival Ranked Seasons. Conquest is the offline version of BR and Events. Showdown is glorified moments that gives the CPU superpowers.
I enjoyed some of the stat grinds buy SDS went overboard in 18 when you needed X number of lefty or righty saves.
-
I prefer offline play, and i do play RS too. playing the cpu can get very stale over and over, but for grinding stats i wish you could do both. for example the granderson HR's. I have 3 online, why not just double it for offline to 20 Hr's or with Heltons stats make it be more. I don't know. it's gonna take me awhile to get 10 dingers with Granderson, because I have a harder time online than offline. just my 2 cents and it ain't worth much.
-
@Johnny_Coletrain said for example the granderson HR's. I have 3 online, why not just double it for offline to 20 Hr's
Can't wait to finish Granderson HR mission to get him out of my lineup. I am at 4 now. I think I have hit about 20 Hrs foul with him, just can never get them fair in an online game.

No it wouldn't have to be, there's no rule that says it has to be. And even if it was, 20 hits, 10 hits, what's the big deal?
Another example, just came in the Jackie program. Online gets you 20 points based on 10 runs and 10 XBH with Dodgers. Offline requires 7 TB in one game with Jackie Robinson as a moment and 5 stolen bases with Dodgers in Conquest. One is clearly easier than the other, and it's not the offline.

Why do people talk about franchise? How is franchise anything like DD?
You can literally collect and trade for the players you want. Turn on force trades, then bam. You can have the greatest team. Why spend money and then play offline in DD?
Trading in Franchise and collecting in DD are in no way related. Nor is building in team. They are 2 completely different modes.
What makes you think DD is just about getting the best players without doing anything for them? I mean I guess that's the logic for people who just buy stubs to buy cards on the market but most like earning their cards. Preferably in the method they like the best.
Well the guy I was asking said "I pay and play just like the rest of you"
- I don't spend a dime on stubs what a waste
- Why spend money collecting cards just to play boring offline
3)Why grind for players, but don't use the players, that's what my point is
Who said offline players don't use the players they get?
They're not playing online. In Diamond Dynasty. AN ONLINE GAME MODE. Like you're grinding for players that you only play conquest and grinding for other players with.
When someone is an online player, they are referring to someone who plays RS, BR or Events. Someone who doesn't play those is considered offline. Yes, conquest, moments, showdown are all done through DD, an "Online" mode, but they're played against a computer. Hence, offline.

I got Zimmerman with out doing anything online. It was easy. Finish all the moments. Beat the Nats on AS vs the CPU. Then get the 10 RBI's with Nat players. You can get Wood and Granderson just doing offline. If you wanted the extra program stars for Ist inning that was online. I play offline and online I like having a choice. Wood was easier online. Granderson I did a little of Both. Zimmerman all offline. Why is anyone complaining.

So once again online gets more missions and points than offline players. This is horse [censored]. I pay and play just as much as everyone else. I know what some are going to say but soon even online won't be using this card so why am I being penalized. I should be be able to buy a cheaper version of the game. Same as CAP I am not allowed to earn the bat skin. B.S. sds

Because the games played so bad for three years online players need to find enjoyment on here as opposed to in game.
