Catcher Calling the Pitch
-
Honestly, what is the point of your Catcher having to call the pitch when the pitcher can't keep it in the zone. Even just calling 4SFB down the middle will end up hitting the batter, wild pitch, etc.

@psychomp85_psn lol I tried the pitchcom on my 2 way and it kept saying knuckleball middle up.

In the very short time i was in the minors ( less then 3 months ffs ) the two catchers for me would actually drop the hand signals. I thought that was cool and then that stopped when i got to the majors
-
You mean when you're playing as a catcher? I would trust that the pitchers' control will improve as you get to the majors, but yeah, it's pretty frustrating at the amateur level
-
It dosnt, high school is the same as majors. there is no way to make called pitches more accurate even with sliders. The most success ive had with consistent strikes is setting up in the opposing batters box as low as it can go and even then it will throw it right down the middle alot. To be fair thou i made a post about it a while ago in the 2025 forums and it is actually a little better than it was then. They may be working on this one a little bit at a time but the problem is when you hit the guys that throw 100 + mph fast balls that go from one side of the screen to the other, the controller cant keep up with that speed and you get the missed catch. If you notice when you control the catcher they never have wild pitches or pitches in the dirt like they do with impact plays. It just feels like its an unfinished game mode thats been in for a year now.
I actually dont even think the cpu has even tried to bunt a single time or even popped up to the catcher while controlling the pitches. The more i compare it to impact plays the more im hopping its a unfinished game mode that they will work on.
Also notice when you do it with quick count on when its your turn to bat the quick count ticks on you too? =p

Do any of you that play as a catcher have the problem I’m having/?
I have just started and in year 2 of college WS. Whenever someone steals second I have absolutely 0 chance of throwing them out. They are already sliding when I catch the ball. I have dumped a ton of tokens into pop time and arm strength. But what good are my stats if they are already 2 feet from the base?

Ok I am about ready to just delete my catcher save this is frustrating. The AI runners take off before the pitcher even moves. I just had a guy in game 2 of CWS steal 2nd, he was sliding before I even received the ball. He had a speed of 51 stealing of 41. Absolutely terrible.
Someone please tell me this gets better

Stealing is broke this year. It’s way too easy to steal.

I guess I’m just going to delete this save. My catcher hits well but with a 78 pop and 76 throw I have absolutely no chance to throw out a base stealer. RUINS ALL IMMERSION!
