Pitcher not controlled by user?

When I’m pitching and the ball comes to the pitcher I don’t have control my partner does. Why is this change implemented? I know the catcher was supposed to controlled by the fielder. Another change making me scratch my head. I want to be positive about this game but it is hard to be.

The idea - I believe - was to cut down on issues / lag when switching between users fielding on the infield. In prior years, as you know, one player controlled the pitcher and catcher in the field of play and the other controlled 3B, 2B, SS, and 1B. If there was a rundown, it was always a disaster because of lag between a 3B throwing to the C, for example. Runners almost always made it back safely if they abused this timing delay between users.
Now, when a ball is put in play - one user controls all of it. It simplifies it a bit; however, what I have noticed is it makes popping up with the catcher to throw out a runner considerably harder. I think we are going to see A LOT more base stealing in co-op as a result.

I think it was fine the way it was. We are all wondering what the [censored] is going on when we play a game. Unnecessary changes in my opinion. There are way more important issues to work on with this mode.
