Waiting to buy The Show until Stadium Creator is Upgraded
-
I didn't buy last year's game because there weren't any upgrades to Stadium Creator and it sounds like there aren't any upgrades in this year's game despite the feature desperately needing it. For me, my main interest in the game is playing franchise mode, relocating a team(or possibly having the option to take control of an expansion team in a future game), designing new logos and uniforms, and creating a realistic ballpark for them to play in. It's been so disappointing for the game to be so close to play this out, but lack the ability to make a realistic stadium. I would love to see new features like:
- moving bullpens out of foul territory
- changing how much foul ground there is
- the option to place ads and distances on outfield walls
-being able to place graphics or logos/team names in the stadium(like in the dugout or on top of dugout roof)
-More stands/crowd shapes to easily align with outfield and foul wall shapes - more batter eye options/ being able to have stands/crowds intersect with that area(In Fenway Park, they cover the seats in centerfield to act as a batters eye but occasionally have fans sitting in that area)
From what I've seen, I think I won't buy this year's game and wait and hope for Stadium Creator upgrades in MLB The Show 27.

HUGE fumble from SDS here with the creator. They cleared the vault…erasing everyone’s work. This led people to believe sweeping changes were coming to the creator.
Opening day(Early Access, anyways) arrives…and there’s nothing. Not a single update/QoL improvement. Not only that, if you look at the BP mound, there is what appears to be a bright green outline as if it’s an area to be selected. So it looks like they initially thought about it, then either changed their minds or forgot about it.

This is on the right track, but for a reason too brutal for most I think to accept. SDS will never upgrade Stadium Creator because they value their ego and their control more than customer sales and satisfaction. Of course, logically thinking people equate customer satisfaction with sales.
But, imagine a company whose leadership does not believe it answers to customers, but only to a holding company and therefore so long as the annual checks sent to the holding company (representing profits) equals or exceeds a minimal level established by that holding company, then the executive's future is safe.
That is how SDS operates. They understands how brutally such a mentality would infuriate people, and so they counter it with marketing, providing the rhetorical illusion of care. This entire customer web-forum is part of that illusion, and so is the interaction that hired SDS employees who come here to interact, when they are authorized to do so, but only in ways that adhere to that authority granted to them.
When one accepts that reality, then the rest of the decisions that SDS carries out makes perfect sense and can be almost perfectly predicted, if not in detail, then at least in general terms.
SDS has no competition in MLB licensed video games. They calculate that you as a customer has nowhere left to go, except to go without, and over time this is true as the game's reliance on server-linked roster updates and other transactions will ensure that when that server link is ended by SDS, then your game may not even work at all and certainly won't work properly. It is planned obsolescence.
Right now, you can play MLB 25, 24, 23, 22, 21, and earlier releases on your console. At some point, they play but not as originally designed. Given the option to play their game or play no other baseball game, SDS calculates their profits will not suffer because few people will chose to go without.
Now, here is where we can answer that presumption and hit SDS square between their eyes. Boycott the game, and I mean the entire game. No further purchases. Hit their profits and get these executives fired by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Stop providing feedback thinking it matters, because it doesn't matter at all.
So long as SDS executives calculate they can continue to meet the profit distributions Sony Interactive Entertainment places on them, then they are free and clear to anger as many customers as they care to. And in their ego-bruised world, we customers angered them because we dared to color outside the lines that SDS established for Stadium Creator. How it happened remains a mystery for me, but that doesn't matter, by moving all the wall panels I was finally able to color outside the lines SDS established.
It didn't matter that we provided SDS an elegant and easy option to get rid of the constraints and prevent LaGrassas in the vault. We bruised their control over the game, a game they firmly believe they own, even own the copy of it we purchase for our use. Their ego bruised, we became their enemy, in their own minds.
Until they get fired, nothing changes. Their ego and obsessive need to control outweighs all else.

Lol, keep waiting
