Do you just want to have Nick Esasky and Wayne Krenchiki to play again?

If I was a Franchise player I would be all over the 85 file for access to the Cardinals.

It was a great team. My favorite was the 1982 team. I doubt any simulation could win the world series with that team because that team under Herzog did so many things that can't be replicated in a video game.

Like having Rollie Fingers and Bruce Sutter on the same team then immediately trading Fingers, Vuckovich, and Simmons for Darryl Porter to the Brewers, the team they beat in the World Series that year. Porter won World Series MVP. What the actual [censored]

Herzog knew what he wanted. Cardinals were 17th in team OPS in 1982. Pitcher friendly ballpark. He won with speed, pitching, defense - perhaps the best defensive team in MLB history - and batters who put the ball in play. 3-2 pitch force play in effect he sent the runner most of the time. Little things like that are difficult for a computer program to replicate.
