The problem with that is people enjoying the game on PC means people cheating in the game. Also, do you really think EA or 2K is doing what is best for the game? If you think SDS is bad, boy do I have news for you

@Talkingben9558_XBL Boo hoo. People have been cheating in video games ever since the beginning of video games. Alienating a whole section of players because of the minority cheaters is not the answer. Look how many online games are on PC. Are we going to whine and cry about every online game on PC?
People drive their vehicles recklessly and cause accidents. Does that mean we should restrict access to vehicles to only those people who we deem worthy of driving? Who are you to make that determination? What gives you the right to take something away from a whole class of people? This is such a basic concept that you people can't seem to understand. Crying about people cheating in a video game is pointless.

There are hardly any cheaters in MLB The Show (maybe 5 out of 1 million). The same went for 2K and Madden. Now, when they ported over to PC, the illicit activity grew tremendously. They're both pretty hard to compete now given all the stupidity going on. Come on, if the hitting servers are quite frankly this erratic and unrealistic, don't you think people will use exploits to bypass the random in-game logic?

@TheBigPapa55_PSN Well, I'm glad you know everything and apparently know just how many people cheat in MLB The Show. People like you need to face the reality. Consoles are dying out. I just switched from Xbox to PC and I don't see myself looking back. You want to blame someone for the cheating and the porting of games to PC? Take a look at Xbox and PlayStation and the decisions they're making to alienate their player base. They're practically shoving people over to PC because of terrible business decisions and greed.
I don't know about you, but I don't have time to sit at home all day and play video games. And I'm [censored] sure not going to pay ridiculous monthly fees just to play games online.
Y'all conveniently forget that anti-cheating software exists. That's why games like COD and Battlefield have successful PC ports. MLB can easily implement said software.
And even if they don't, who really cares? Unless you get paid to sit and play MLB The Show for a living, it really doesn't have an impact on your life. Y'all want something to whine and cry about. You crave attention and want to feel special because MLB The Show is one of the last remaining console exclusive games. But the world isn't all about you.
Go outside and touch grass every once in a while. You'll quickly realize that there are far more important issues going on in the world than people cheating on an online game.
And maybe if MLB The Show were an online only game, I would take you people more seriously. But a lot of people like myself like to play The Show for the single player modes.
I don't know what to tell ya. The console wars are over and all of you clinging to your console exclusives are going to have to suck it up and get with the times. If a new Xbox even comes out, it's going to be a PC hybrid. And if you don't think PlayStation will follow, you're incredibly naive. Look at the decisions PlayStation is making now. They're following Xbox's lead. They are porting their exclusives to all platforms. How long do you think that's going to last before people realize they don't really need a PlayStation either?

What do you want a Nobel Prize just because you play on PC? Woopdidoo. No, I do not play video games all day. I only have time for probably only an hour or two during the week and a couple of hours on Saturday and Sunday. Touch grass? Is "school" a concept in your lexicon? No I do not crave attention. That's why I don't write long-[censored] essays getting turned up over someone's opinion. Sure, SDS could implement some sort of anti-cheat software, but, with SDS' long track record of blundering attempted innovation into long-lasting regression (take Stadium Creator or RTTS for example), we know it will not be very effective and will be easily exploitable. It's too early to say consoles are dying at the moment. The reason Microsoft and Sony port over their games to PC is to increase game population and sales, not to put their own consoles out of business. For a game like MLB The Show, this isn't the right move for the aforementioned reasons.

Also, I would like to point out that if SDS still hasn’t implemented online franchise in what, ten years, I wouldn’t think that gives off “offline gameplay first.”

@TheBigPapa55_PSN No, I don't need a Nobel Prize for playing on PC. You're the one acting like you're better than everyone else because you play on console. You're the one gatekeeping a game and trying to act like PC players aren't worthy of playing a baseball game. And my lexicon is none of your concern. It's interesting that you think insulting my intelligence is a nice way to bolster your argument. I spent several sleepless nights in law school to make a life for myself. It's funny you complain about me writing an essay. I guess you're just mad that someone isn't afraid of challenging your opinions. Two things that lawyers are good at: writing and arguing lol. So yeah, after I get off work, I would enjoy playing some baseball on my Rog Ally X. I'm sorry that offends you so much. Sue me, I guess?

Well, exhibit A, ladies and gentlemen of the jury. I enjoy debating others on these forums and having intelligent discussions, not lifeless ramblings trying to prove each other wrong. If you’re really a lawyer as you say you are, I’m sure joining a discussion with a bit of a fiery tongue on you and throwing shade at others for our opinions isn’t something taught in Law school. I also love how you have to establish yourself as a superior to others by describing your law school hardships. I have a good job myself, but why waste the breath stating it to you for what? It’s irrelevant. You had no rebuttal to my previous claim, so you simply assigned me labels to try and insult me. People like you make me stop what I’m doing and say “what the [censored]?”

@TheBigPapa55_PSN Hahaha. Differences of opinion. It's all good. I get where you're coming from. I just disagree and would like to be able to play one of my favorite games too.

@TheBigPapa55_PSN I only brought up my personal life because you insulted my intelligence. I'm not an annoying lawyer who goes around bragging about himself. I can't stand arrogant people. But when you insult my intelligence simply because I have a different opinion and heaven forbid, want to play a baseball game in my free time, I defend myself. Nothing personal on my end. But I will not allow someone to put me down when I've worked my [censored] off to get where I am today. I mean, really, what's so wrong with people like me wanting to play a game? At the end of the day, things are going to change whether we like it or not. It's part of life man.

You told me to touch grass. I also don’t recall insulting your intelligence, unless it was the long-essay comment.

And yes. I did start off the discussion a bit fiery. My apologies. I just believe in freedom. Baseball is the most American sport there is. And I don't think gatekeeping who can play the game is in the spirit of baseball and this country.

We aren’t gatekeeping. For starters, our opinions are irrelevant in this situation. The plan is already in motion and there isn’t anything we can do. The problem is, this is SDS we’re talking about. It would be fine if another company were in charge, but quite frankly, SDS would find a way to botch this project and ruin things. That’s all I was saying. Nobody, at least not me, was gatekeeping

Who knows? Maybe they'll surprise all of us. I'm hopeful. Either way, I hope you enjoy playing the game. Until it's released on PC, I guess I'll continue watching YourFriendKyle on YouTube and laughing my [censored] off.

No, of course. Again, I would love a new wave of community members if done right, but SDS has the tendency to do it wrong. Anyway, that’s irrelevant as I said earlier. Enjoy MLB 26, my man. And good luck in the lawyer business. I’m still trying to get my degree.

    1. Cheating will be rampant. Anytime a game goes onto PC the number of cheaters spikes dramatically. Just look at what is happening to 2K and Madden
    2. MLB The Show is a game that is heavily reliant on getting good frames per second. Console refresh rates are capped at 120 right now, while good monitors for PC can reach north of 240 fps. This difference would give people with $2000 PC builds at a huge advantage over console players. This would essentially make the game a competition over who has the best setup.

For those two reasons and also the reasons @TheBigPapa55_PSN have stated. I'm not for it being ported to PC. I can sort of understand where the counter argument lies but I have to agree to disagree with the counter argument. The cheating will be through the roof that's what I am more concerned with, is how SDS will handle that. Cheating will always be an issue but it's how game software companies handle the cheating. I'm hoping SDS has a plan, recent history is not in their favor, we shall see. Otherwise, whether I'm for it or not, which I'm not, they're going to move in the interest of their shareholders not me the consumer.
