This is the 79 silver version of Tanner Bibee pitching with almost no energy in a Veteran difficulty conquest game.

Throws a wasted 1st pitch and then proceeds to dot the next four pitches. A sweeper, sinker, fastball, and sinker. this was a few days ago so I am not sure what the next pitch was or what the actual outcome of the at bat was but I remembered to finally grab a screenshot of a Silver pitcher dotting the edges of the zone with no energy on a lower difficulty.

Bibee's Fast Ball has a control rating of 46
His Sinker has a control rating of 68
And the sweeper has a control rating of 80

And no, I do not expect pitches to be grooved but I also don't expect guys like Bibee to throw with the pinpoint accuracy of prime Greg Maddux.

Playoff-Bibee got his confidence up so he became super-Tanner 🙂

It’s bad enough when a silver pitcher does this but this happens far too often with bronze and common pitchers as well. Way too much dotting by sub par pitchers.

Pitches don’t need to be right down the middle but should catch far more of the plate far more often on lower difficulties. I think it boils down to they don’t know how to properly scale the game for lower difficulties so they just adjust pitch speeds and PCI size and call it good enough.

I used to be more patient at the plate. Letting the inevitable 1st pitch at the bottom of the zone go, waiting for a more favorable pitch to swing at. At least two of those pitches in the screenshot had to be fouled off just for me a stay alive. If I take them then I am striking out looking.

I've noticed this after 856 games played (seems it ramped up after 825th as I was getting dotted by lower 60's to upper 70's... I'd expected it from anything higher than 79, but come on man)...and I brought it up in another thread that had some good arguments but not relevant to my experience of game play...

I'm glad you included a screenshot...the CPU is not only doing this to 99 rated players but to 78 to 94 rated players. I carry, currently, an 88 overall team (2 points higher than usually playing with) and it's a paint fest.

    I'll just have to adapt.
