    New collection next Friday

Not quite sure where they go here, as most positions have endgame cards with 120+s and the obvious choice is now off the table with Chipper's chase card

I would say its likely to be a 1B, 2B, or SS. if its a pitcher its Donaldson, who would then be part of his own collection

Of those positions, there are two switch hitters I could see getting a juiced 99. Murray I can't see being a collection target.

I think we will instead break the norm and turn to a Flashback instead of a legend and the collection reward will be Elly De La Cruz.

I mean it could always be a pitcher. If that were the case we know exactly who it would be

They strongly implied that Trout has a 400 HR program ready to go if he ever decides to hit the last 2.

Mantle is always a possibility, but given Beltran is already a major collection reward I dont think they will go that route. I think with the way they have elevated the WC rewards lately that is where Mantle ends up

There are so many players it could be. Lots of legends and fan favorites don't have 99s yet.

HOF players like Gary Carter, Orlando Cepeda, Craig Biggio, Duke Snider, Vlad Sr, Brooks Robinson, Jeff Bagwell, Ivan Rodriquez, Johnny Bench, Todd Helton, Tom Glavine, Bruce Sutter, Harmon Killebrew, Stan Musial, Ozzie Smith, Rickey Henderson and Satchel Paige all only have cards below 90 Overall

Non-HOF Legends like Matt Holliday, Ryan Braun, Vida Blue, Kerry Wood, Rob Dibble all have cards only below 90 Overall

Fan Favorites like Bryce Harper or Mookie Betts will both get 99s at some point.

There are still plenty of options and an ever decreasing amount of time.

At this point though if you are expecting every drop to be an obvious upgrade for your Meta squad then you are setting yourself up for disappointment. There are 167 cards (41 Pitchers and 126 position players) in the game with a 99 overall. Some of those have insane attributes that are hard to beat.

At this stage it becomes more about preferences than a constant supply of "better" cards

Its a collection card. It will be a meta card, probably with absolutely stupid attributes. And it doesn't matter if the player is deserving of that card, they will juice people the community likes like Castro, Schwarber, or Sanchez.

So its going to be a Donaldson, or a player with 125s across the board that may not even be a HoF caliber player.

Honestly while there are some positive signs with content, with the last two mini seasons being a dramatic improvement over all the ones before them and actual programs coming with the inning drop next week, I hate how meta heavy the cards have become.

And my fear is that with moonshot II coming we get a moronic Ozzie Smith with 125 power for his 99.

And I guess these juiced cards have been around for a few years now, I think it just bothers me more this year because we jumped from 95s to this and as Dolenz has pointed out a large chunk of the roster never got a proper mid level card

Satchel HOF makes sense for a collection. Donaldson, Mickey, Trout, Rickey Henderson, Ozzie Smith and Roberto Clemente all I think would be good choices as well.

Those are just the ones below 90. There is another list of guys from 90-95 that Includes Bob Gibson, Andre Dawson, Roberto Clemente, Tony Gwynn, Jim Thome, Mike Piazza, Pedro Martinez, Nolan Ryan, Lou Brock and Willie McCovey and that is just me cherry picking some names.

What about Honus Wagner. I know they don’t like repeats and he was the very first big collection guy but he only has the one 20th anniversary as far as I know.

Gibson is an intriguing option, I could see that

The collection drop is a couple days shy of Clemente day so its feasible, but I don't think his cards are typically popular

It should be one of my favorites growing up...Vlad Sr. 5 tool player HOFer who only has an 85! Cmon he's overdue!

Edit: Or Rickey Henderson! Criminal that they didn't pay him more respect after recently passing! Don't think there will ever be another player like him and it's underrated how great he was

Doesn't that depend on when you grew up? I was 32 when he debuted.

He'd be a worthy pick that a lot of people would like but we all didn't grow up with him as a favorite.

We’ve been over this one already. When he finally decides to hit his 400th jack there will be a program for him.

Incognito should be back ASAP, one of the best ideas for a card series of the past few games.
