@JenkinMeyer_PSN Love collections. Give us more usable cards.
-
I don’t usually hit great with tall hitters so I’m looking forward to see how Salvy.Cameron and Chavez are.

Collections are awesome, not sure why the hate. More cards for theme teams and they are completely optional. Not sure why this is a bad thing.
The problem is, as far as I can tell, is that they are NOT optional if you want the next Rolen/Ted Williams. There were massive complaints in 2023 about needing to get collection fodder for the big rewards, and its even worse now that everything is in packs
Those complaints in 2023 severely hurt the amount of cards in 2024. I fear the complaints now will do the same for 2026
More cards will always be better than less cards, options are great. But people need more leeway with collections when you release more cards
-
@Lord-Oimak_MLBTS Exactly what I was thinking. Even if you can earn these 5 cards in the program, for the next collection they will have 5 prime chase cards and 15 other prime cards you need to buy or get extremely lucky with pack pulls.
I am happy to see a Perez if I can actually obtain him without 200k stubs or a .000001% chance of pulling him in a pack.

You're upset that the big collection rewards require big collections?
-
I hear you and the points are valid - it’s just those collections are not meant to be completed on day one. Typically if you want the new collection day one then yes, you have to buy the packs or players.
In a month from now however they’re easily attainable and cheap.
-
@DemIsE4_XBL well since they are offering prime packs like the summer, past pipeline, etc...here comes another collection.

Where did I say i personally was?
Stop trying to make it look like I said something i didn't.
-
@JenkinMeyer_PSN i love collections....but this is what....10 now? not including LS, Rollins, and Williams? It just gets old. Its like the sets and seasons, SDS sees something and absolutely beats a dead horse into the ground.
-
I just ignore all the collections personally until I get the cards from packs naturally. Which means Ill likely never get most of them done, but thats fine.
I still hope at some point in the second half they start releasing choice packs
-
You notice they have not shown the pack that will prolly be in the shop yet -- lol
unless they are pushing the D-Quest and doing that for packs but I still expect a pack in the shop
-
Can't wait to see 2012 99 OVR Prime Trout in the pack in the shop. Lol!
-
But at this point what else is there besides collections? It’s a collectible card game afterall. I guess I’m not sure what they’re supposed to do otherwise.
If you like to play baseball, play baseball with the players you have. Collections have more players to play with if you want them.
If not, ignore them. What’s the gripe?
-
@JenkinMeyer_PSN its not a gripe, as much as its overkill. Thats all. just my opinion.

Maybe not hide so many of the collectible cards in packs? We get 5 Prime Cards in the program today but how many more will be in the inevitable pack and how many more that 5 will be needed for the collection?
-
Oh, and also the collection rewards... It's an all Texas affair
-
I get that but it’s not hidden, it’s an option to do. We accumulate stubs spend stubs on those players if you want them, or don’t if you don’t. We collect packs every week and every once in awhile you get lucky and get a player you want or a player to sell to buy the players we want.
It’s up to the individual to decide how bad they want a card. It’s their entire business model and always has been. Nothing is hidden.

It's not how its always been though, needing pack cards for collections
MLB The Show 2023, pulling up a random season: season 2
300 cards needed to complete the collection
90 TA
155 Programs
17 TA track (only counting 3 of 5 bosses since I think you could only get 3 free)
4 collections (counting 2 of the 3 choice cards since the third was the 300 reward)
1 pack given free
Thats 267 already
Online cards (not needing flawless)
14 Ranked (out of 18 total, 4 would need flawless)
2 BR (6 total, minions were core)
16 Event299 directly earnable cards without stubs (or going flawless). Out of 300.
And that season had Kaiju cards in show packs, you would have needed to be very unlucky not to have gotten the 300th card out of packs

Pretty good day for us Cardinals diehards:
Pendleton
Arenado
Kaat
BerkmanWrong uniforms but love it.
-
That Pendleton should have been a Cardinals card, give him an MVP 99 for the Braves later
