Can we please tone down the CPU pitching and fielding just a touch?
It makes the game feel and look absolutely ridiculous at times. Just don’t want to feel like I’m facing Greg Maddux with prime Ozzie Smith playing every position on defense non stop.

Funny story, I was playing the Diamond Quest yesterday and had a hit stolen by a remarkable play by the SS. I was initially upset, but next inning while pitching, Ozzie Smith stepped up to the plate and I realized who made the play against me and suddenly I was fine with it.
Even though the 89 Ozzie Smith card only has 87 Fielding. There are 17 shortstops in the game with better fielding than the best Ozzie Smith card. 10 live series SS cards are better, including Free Agent Nick Ahmed who is a 70 overall free agent player who last won a GG in 2019 and Garrett Hampson who has only ever played 107 games at SS his entire 8 year career (and only 3 games in 2025)

Haha that is funny and sad all at the same time. I know DD is fantasy land by nature but the fact that many players are rated higher defensively than Ozzie is laughable.
The super human diving plays and the just on/off the black dotting by all pitchers, common included, is frustrating to say the least.
Not asking for non stop meatballs or zero range fielders but attributes should at least mean something. On lower difficulties the pitching and defense should be nowhere near as good as it is in the present state.

I wouldn’t feel as frustrated about cpu fielding if our fielders acted the same way. A 60 fielding and reaction for cpu is not the same as 60 on our players, ours are active liabilities while theirs are making multiple “play of the year” plays in the same game.

For sure. The ratings seem to make a difference for user controlled players but for the CPU either they don’t matter at all or the sliders are cranked way up rendering the actual ratings meaningless.

Is it possible for SDS to fix this mid season?
Possible? Yes.
Likely? No.As far as we know it is intended and not a bug or an issue at all but instead is a design decision.

Yeah I’m 99% sure they are well aware and it’s by design. It slows the grind and incentivizes spending to buy stubs to speed it up. It’s a good business decision just not player friendly.
