New Idea for a Series Call “Comeback Chronicles”
-
I have an idea for a series of card for the game. It’s call "Comeback Chronicles"
A celebration of players who faced major injuries in a specific season but are imagined in their “what-if” form — giving them a 99 overall card that represents their peak potential if they had remained healthy.Examples of Featured Players (Recent Injuries):
Jacob deGrom (2023) – Imagine if he’d pitched a full season with his otherworldly stuff.
Mike Trout (2023) – Projected as a full-season MVP candidate instead of missing significant time.
Bryce Harper (2022) – Fully healthy power and precision instead of battling injuries.
Shohei Ohtani (2023) – A dual-threat beast without his late-season pitching shutdown.
Aaron Judge (2023) – What if he didn’t miss time after his hot start?
Card Design:Background: A shattered glass motif, symbolizing the breaking of barriers (or bones), paired with a vibrant phoenix-like resurgence.
Color Scheme: Reds and golds to symbolize recovery and power.Gameplay Mechanics:Maxed-Out Potential: These cards are 99 overall and emphasize the player’s most notable skills, as if their season had no interruptions.
Example: DeGrom has elite velocity, Trout gets insane power and fielding, Judge has maxed contact and clutch stats.
"Resilient Player" Perk: These cards gain performance boosts the longer they remain in the game, symbolizing overcoming adversity.
Injury Milestone Challenges: Complete missions inspired by the player’s shortened season, such as pitching 5 perfect innings with deGrom or hitting multiple home runs in a game with Trout.
Seasonal Event: An "Injury Comeback Showdown" where you face teams featuring the injured stars from across the league.
Collection Reward: Collect all the “Comeback Chronicles” cards to unlock a special bonus card — perhaps a Peak Ken Griffey Jr. (another legendary injury-prone player). Why It’s Cool:Fan Connection: Fans of injured stars get to play out a “what-if” scenario and see their favorite players at full power.
Unique Narrative: This concept taps into the drama of sports, where injuries are a critical part of the story. -
If you know a card artist could you ask them to make a prototype card.

Yeah, they're not going to create a series that gives you Trout, Harper, Ohtani & Judge.
They could create an offshoot of the Awards series for players that won 'Comeback Player of the Year'
Jason Giambi (2005)
Carlos Pena (2007)
Cliff Lee (2008)
Prince Fielder (2015)
Salvador Perez (2020)
Justin Verlander (2022)
Liam Hendriks (2023)
Garret Crochet (2024)
Griffey Jr (2005)
Chris Carpenter (2009)
Lance Berkman (2011)
Cody Bellinger (2023)
Chris Sale (2024)The collection rewards could be players that came back from cancer (Jon Lester, Eric Davis, Mike Lowell, Trey Mancini whenever he reaches Legend status)

That would be cool.

@BurkeyPoo_NSW While I like the idea I don't need a card series that gives me the same diamonds that already exist. I would want it to be guys like Jarrod Parker who had such big expectations but had to keep going under the Knife.

Yeah I know. Those were just some ideas.
