Sore and Toxic players (just immature?)
-
Been playing MLB the show for 2 years now and have been playing more and more multiplayer. I have come across so many players that are just so immature. I guess its called toxic but it becomes tiresome. Am I just coming across lemon people who just have their own internal mental issues that they just throw fits in the game. It's just mind blowing how it feels like the majority of players are like this, is it the community? Is there a reputation for MLB the show players being like this? I don't let it affect me most of the time but it gets a little out of hand when its game after game. Are there any sections of the community where people don't have distorted egos and just play the game and try and get better and take L's and W's like normal emotionally stable people?

The seedy reputation is across the board for far too many people who play online internet based games. It is not and never has been a majority. In fact, in terms of those who harbor unhealthy and often toxic views it is likely an 80-20 ratio with 80% being well adjusted people who take things in stride.
However, 20% of hundreds of millions of online players the world over still represents a huge number and even a frightfully few of them herein at this SDS community forum is more than enough to make it seem like they form a loud majority of MLB The Show customers. They don't; they never have, and they never will. Instead they are a vocal minority of a minority that allowed their lives to become defined by an internet playground for a single video game.
Meanwhile, vastly more people who see this game as a means to gain a few minutes of pure entertainment play the game versus CPU and versus remote players via the internet. If the internet connection goes bad, they might utter a metaphor or two and shut the machine down and move on to more important things. They aren't going to launch manifestoes against SDS trying to blame them for the condition of their broadband connection.
People whose lives are so empty that a great bulk of their identity and worth is derived from the results of video games are by definition in great need of a huge reality check. Vice write the same sophomoric and emotion laden screeds on a community forum when they don't get all they want, they should instead find other meaningful pursuits in life.
Real baseball is a game of failure, and being able to adjust to failure without losing the essential drive to strive for becoming better. That's the best single lesson the actual sport can drive home. Those who understand that can thrive, and those who cannot are unable to handle the setbacks that the game regularly dishes out.
Cheating to win an online video game is indicative of people gone bad and lost in their way. Life isn't about participation trophies and nor is it about destroying what others achieve. We have a lot of people who need to learn that lesson. How they act over a video game is merely emblematic of the problem, but isn't the worst manifestation of their mania.

I agree, even if its taken serious and people are playing competitively, like you said baseball is a game of failures. I am glad to hear that most people aren't like this, I hope I can avoid the immature mental cases. My mentality is if I lose "I" have to make adjustments and learn from tendancies that may cause me to strikeout etc. It's not the pitchers fault for not throwing me a meatball to smash or a hitter for being patient and having good plate dicipline. It is all how you react to the scenario. It just gets tiresome when it is back to back to back games. thanks for hearing me out. All the best.
