Losing

It’s an unavoidable part of the game. There’s two ways to lose in this game. You can lose gracefully like a real man, recognize you were beat, tip your hat, and move on to the next game… this is rare in this game.
The other way is like a 5 year old child, have a tantrum, do obnoxious things like put the controller down or disconnect mid flight on a home run or anything else that involves toxic play, including throwing fastballs at the hitters head. And I gotta say, this game brings out the very worst in so many people that it’s downright pathetic, like a completely flawed human who thinks winning a video game is somehow important and takes it all way too seriously, and cannot accept defeat. And what you can see on here is truly a microcosm of society, how young men are largely a bunch of absolute wimps who can’t handle the adversity of taking a loss.
If I just described you, first of all, shame on you, you know better or at least you should. I think of everyone I play on here as if they were my friend sitting beside me on the couch and we have a friendly competition. I know I’m not going to win every game, heck, winning more than half the games is an achievement if you’re playing against someone of similar skill level. I don’t care about my record or stats, I just like playing baseball. Obviously, there are times where the matchups are wildly uneven and I quickly get trounced by someone who is far more skilled at the game, but even against them, I’ll never stoop to any childish behavior. Quitting an uneven game is fine, but everyone needs to learn to lose gracefully.
If you’re one of those poor losers, you owe it to yourself as a human to overcome this gaping flaw in your human condition. It’ll make you a better person at the end of the day. You must recognize none of this matters in any way in life. Winning a video game is not everything, it’s nothing. It’s absolutely positively meaningless. If you’re playing this game and constantly frustrated when you lose and only enjoy the game when you win, you’re doing it all wrong. Time to rethink everything, especially who you are as a person.

I don't play online for similar reasons. I hated being told to go kick the bucket, but not so nicely.
However, I do have to ask if you are a poor winner? I've ran into lots of those too. Probably more of those. Do you steal bases when you are up 10-0? Do you keep hitting home runs in the same situation? That's what'll make me to throw at your head or disconnect midflight. If your answer is, "it's your job to stop me," you are part of the problem as well. If you beat me, which you probably would, I will send you a GG if you play with good grace. If not. I'll hit your batter until all of my pitchers have been kicked out of the game. Of course you won't play against me, because it's too toxic to play online.

Online play can be hard and the way the multi player program works is stat based. So if I'm going up against someone that is throwing strikes down the middle I'll surely tee off and try to run up score....i do typically feel a little sorry for my opponent and thankful they don't just quit so I pitch a little more strikes then normal
But yeah, in previous years where you didn't need the stats I prob wouldn't bunt and steal to run up the score but im always trying to hit

Where i agree with some of your statement and I will say I have always stayed in my game even when I end up getting a mercy loss. It is hard to lose with "humility" sometimes when you have 24 good timing swings with 21 hard hit balls and only 7 hits, or 7 perfect perfects with 4 being outs. While your oppent has 6 every late bloopers with 80 exit velo and 2 obvious no touchy HR with 87 exit velo all while having 49 foul balls. In those instances it is very hard believe that your opponent deserved a win.
