The main objective each year for SDS and their MLB The Show title is to mimic real MLB baseball as best they can. Sadly, sometimes real life intrudes on that goal and forces a basic change.

Historically, baseball has been a game where the best teams win about 60% of their games and the worst teams win 40% of their games. The key points being best and worst, not better than average or below average teams. Those two types of teams win about 55% to 50% of their games and 45% to 50% of their games respectively.

However, a very sad trend has emerged in real baseball. The gap between rich teams and poor teams has grown substantially. Right now, with a full month played in the 2025 season, we have two teams with only single digit wins: White Sox (.259) at 7 games and the even more pathetic Rockies (.154) at merely 4 wins!

If this sort of anemic play continues over the rest of the season, then the White Sox will finish the season with 42 wins and the Rockies with 25. Since the formative years of baseball turned into the so-called modern era of the game, which happened in 1901 believe it or not, the single worst winning percentage of any team was the 1916 Philadelphia Athletics at .235. The 1935 Boston Braves tallied at .248. There have only been four teams in the modern era who finished with fewer than 40 wins and these four teams played in an era where less than 162 games were played.

In 2025, we have a very real opportunity to see the Rockies become the worst team in the history of MLB but also be joined by the White Sox who will also crack the Worst 25 list!

SDS may well need to amend their code to allow for more wins and losses for AI teams! Right now, their code doesn't allow for enough suck factor!

I realize this isn’t a genuine post but that statement has never been true.

I find it amazing the percentage of people who sign up for accounts at an SDS web forum devoted to MLB The Show, and who come here for the primary purpose to deny the company any and all positive regard, but instead to just attack SDS without regard for any reference to facts.

Yes, let me make this clear. This thread I initiated is serious. And to assert that SDS is nothing but a bad company devoid of any positive elements reveals the worst of singular thinking, which is never a good thing. Life is NOT an either/or concept. Shades of grey always exist. People who lack the basic intelligence, fairness, and integrity to live by that concept would best avoid public exchange!

If SDS had the choice of a perfect baseball simulation and $1 million in profit or a bad baseball simulation and $10 million in profit, their bank account is going up by $10 million every time. Their main objective is profit and it has always been profit.

Perhaps you should go read your post back to yourself while standing in front of a mirror.
