SDS false advertisement/ work tickets are pointless
-
I took first in my division for the weekend classic. I did a ticket to receive the stubs and prizes SDS advertised!
The response that SDS gave me was “Since Weekend Classic 1 was not as smooth as we had hoped, we are offering two free pack redemptions in The Show Shop until 12 PT on 4/22/25.”
So yall just want to falsely advertise and then give some garbage pack redemptions? Really SDS? Where is the integrity?
-
@borderpatrollin_XBL Very progressive of you to post this. Thanks for being and Ally.
-
They under delivered for sure, but false advertising implies malicious intent. It absolutely sucks for those that won.
-
@yankblan_PSN False advertising does not always imply malicious intent, though it often does.
-
Almost akin to someone saying they are going to build a partition at someone elses expense huh...
-
@theBlindRhino_PSN everything you have said has made no logical sense lmfao?
-
@borderpatrollin_XBL I wish they would bring back the double decker tacos.

Yes, I explicitly stated what the two replies SDS would give to tickets would be in this thread:
https://forums.theshow.com/post/699443
You got 1 of the 2.
And @SDS_JoeK_PSN predictably replied to my comment deflecting from the fact that SDS support tickets for anything other than simple issues (like picking a duplicate non-sellable card from a choice pack) are useless.
Absent a miracle, you’re not going to get a resolution. If they reply with the copy/paste stating that they’re investigating, you’re not going to get a follow up. That’s just what they send when they want to close the ticket without doing anything.
They don’t care and they just want people like Joe to spam the forums giving the impression that they do. That’s all the ticket process is; performative.
Eventually Joe will realize this and that his job is to go online and mislead children every day. And then he will realize it’s a miserable thing to do and start looking for another job. And then SDS will hire another community manager to do the same thing and start the cycle over again because they’ll never actually fix the problems with their company’s culture and instead just keep hiring new community managers like it is their fault that every other area of the company, every area other than the community managers, refuses to treat their customers with basic respect.

Thank you for your valuable input in this situation. SDS fanboys will just fill any posts trying to hold them accountable with anything but what the post is talking about. You have to admit weekend classic was a disaster right? No way to check where you are ranked and 6 packs as a “we’re sorry” is not good.
-
@SDS_JoeK can SDS give us the packs to the winners as advertised? This is an integrity issue
-
@SDS_JoeK_PSN SDS joe k. More like SDS JOKE. Give the man/woman he/she they/them, their packs. Made the comment California friendly .
-
@borderpatrollin_XBL Just DM'd you for more details.
-
Also, while I can appreciate the frustration here, I would gently remind everyone that the forum rules prohibit personal attacks/name calling, including against SDS staff.
Since I'm the target and I'd prefer to err on the side of letting people make their voices and opinions heard in a respectful manner, I'm not going to lock this thread or hand out any temp bans... for now.
That said, I suggest we turn our focus back to doing what we can to help OP and away from personal attacks and name calling.
Thanks!

@SDS_JoeK_PSN hello, could you please help me get the 75 packs and 50k stubs for winning the division?

Read his post, he said that he DM'd you

@sbchamps17_NSW he said in the DM the same reply I originally posted about

So, here we sit broken hearted. I mean this is an easy fix. give him his packs that he won. Borderpatrollin, I have an attorney on retainer. You want to use him?, he will get you triple the amount

This statement is ridiculous and by no means am I some apologist for a multi-million dollar corporation that doesn't need my help. No attorney is going to take this situation as representing a court case. So, let's knock off the foolish rhetoric.
First, contracts must be explicit, not implied. Second, to fall under tort action the contract must have actual value. In this situation, even if everything alleged here against SDS is 100% accurate, it still represents a virtual value within a video game.
In short, give me a break! Triple the amount of virtual value remains exactly zero actual value.

@PriorFir4383355_XBL hahahaahha you are clueless. There are many court cases in the video game world lol….. you are clueless lol
Go to law school and maybe you’ll learn something

@PriorFir4383355_XBL Here we go, an MLB the show attorney. If I have to go up against you little key board warrior , you’d get walked over and have to pay court fees for wasting everyone’s time. First off, you can file a lawsuit for almost anything. Second of all. They posted something with a promise that you win. That value of the item doesn’t inherently have to be real value, I would just have to show it has value to the client. And guess what, that would be easy since in order to receive those packs, I can buy them with stubs. Therefore the value of the pack goes hand in hand with the value of the stubs . A monetary amount. Are you that inept, you don’t understand this. They offered a prize and ReNIGGED out of the contest. That is false advertising 1000%, also if they had some sort of TnC. They would have to show those inconspicuously. They clearly did not. Another win for the client. Lastly, I pay the attorney, it’s not the other way around, I’m sure he could dig up more civil law to hold them accountable.
