How to tell what is legend an flashback?
-
So where do you go to tell what exactly these non live series are.
-
A legend is likely dead or retired from baseball. A flashback is an active player but with an older card.
-
Short answer: anyone with a Live Series card.
Longer answer: any non-Live Series card for a player that had not filed their retirement paperwork with MLB by the end of 2024 OR for prospects that have not yet been promoted to the majors (and thus don't have a Live Series card yet.)
Example A: Lance Lynn did not officially retire until 4/1/25. Should The Show release a non Live Lynn card during this game's life cycle, that card would count as a Flashback.
Example B: Samuel Basallo has a Pipeline card that counts as a Flashback even though he has yet to debut in the majors (and thus doesn't have a Live Series card.) -
Retired = Legend
Still playing = Flashback
