Lack of content
-
Have I played too much lol, or is there a lack of content. I've completed all the conquest maps, all the programs, showdowns, diamond quest, and mini seasons. I've got nothing to play except vs CPU to keep grinding team affinity.
-
You're probably playing far more than the average person.
One thing I learned many, many years ago back in my MMO days is that no matter what a dev team does some people will always get through any added content quickly and want more.
And as another CPU only player I realize that SDS would probably prefer it if we all played both online and offline modes.
-
We have played too much, but I feel the same way. XP path done with 2 weeks to go. Programs so short they're done a few hours after they release. No repeatable conquest maps. The TA programs being long are nice, so at least there's something, but with the TA and repeatable Mini-Season rewards taking so much between actually getting anything, yeah, right now, it feels like I'm playing for nothing, when you can go game after game after game and the end-game rewards screen stays empty. The fact that, like always, the stub reward from actually just playing is effectively non-existent doesn't help. That's one of the very few things EA does better than SDS. In NHL at least, you do get a decent coin reward from just playing.

@Dolenz_PSN And they actually got me to play online last year, when you could complete the MP programs with just innings pitched. Now that they've gone back to being performance based, with no repeatable PXP missions or anything like that, no thanks. Not wasting my time doing something I dislike.
-
@mietha_PSN I on the other hand am playing things I dislike just for the program, but really as someone who is terrible, it isn't thaaaat bad to get through the missions. I haven't dedicated to much time to it and already have Varitek. Mostly I've just played events (although I hate the current one) with a little BR and RS sprinkled in

Removal of the innings rewards does make the ranked track feel like a slog. I have barely gotten any rewards even though Ive played a decent amount of online because I am a poor hitter. I feel ill end up knocking out like 60 points all at once
At least the starter/reliever innings are there in drop 3

Something like 2023's Jazz map would go a long way.
Its less profitable than the current classic mini season, but you dont have to wait 20+ games to get rewardsI was also a bit disappointed with new threads program, I thought pipeline was a good blueprint but new threads was less cards and faster to complete. Interested to see what the spotlight will look like tomorrow
On the flip side, I am happy with the pace of conquest map releases. They have done a good job with that. And i expect when inning two drops we will get a new mini season. And I personally like DQ as a change of pace, but not as a main grind mode. While I have my gripes, inning 1, while not as strong as 2023 season 1, has been very good and a big improvement over last year

You know MiniSeasons are repeatable, right?

It just takes a long time to get anything out of mini seasons.
And then you also have to deal with stuff like facing Billy Wagner 4 straight games while your Billy Wagner takes the stamina hit...

MS user stamina has been broken since inception, and it drives me right up the [censored] wall. I had a MS game where I matched up with the 20th Anniversary Rocket...same pitcher I started. I threw 9 pitches in inning one, only 3 fastballs and was in the red- while the opposing Clemens through 19, 17 of which were fastballs, and wasn't even into the yellow.

A bit if both I’d say

@Sarge1387_PSN Yesterday, I had Skubal pitch an entire MS game and he never went into the red. Started the next game and... Skubal was at full stamina. I had him pitch that entire second game as well, while still never going into the red. Nope, MS stamina seems to be working as intended. /s

I don’t play very much maybe an hour every other day or so and maybe there is enough content but the content sucks for sure nothing is worth grinding for right now collections are done so play a game here and there and I’m cooked

As an update I actually did knock out over 60 points in one game
100K, 25 SP, 15 IP, 5BB, 15 SB, 15K pxp, 10 BR runs and maybe one other all completed in an absolutely terrible 9 inning BR game that was offensive to the game of baseball.
Afterward I thought my wheel was bugging out because it kept going and going. 4 spins earned for one terrible game of baseball

I play more than almost anyone and I've also completed all programs except TA. I've been grinding Diamond Quest hard though. Best way to make stubs for now.
Later in the season I'll focus more on playing vs CPU and paralleling (going for those P5 1/1s is fun).

Ive barely touched mlb25 . Just unlocked arrieta yesterday in the XP Path that's how slow its been for me. Got a new PC been on that alit more lately and honestly The Show is just the same ol [censored]

@Ledfoot_19_PSN Why not play DQ even if you are skipping all the mini missions and just playing the stadium challenges? At least you get a pack every win. I was apprehensive of spamming DQ but once I got into it, it is a great way to do TA and get packs to help complete the live series. If you play the mini missions on your way to one stadium, you will also get another reward now and then even with a lower than 30% chance. The only downside to this at this point is that there are less than 10 stadium challenges which means same teams over and over again.

I prefer to just spam the "New Threads" one. I complete every square on the board. Then I play the two Stadium challenges at the end. I don't always get all four players but on average I get two to three. And that ends up netting me about 20K in an hour and a half. Which is pretty good this year.
Last year I would net 20K probably every 15 minutes just from flipping. So yeah this isn't as good, but that's the reality of '25.
