Secondary positions

I get SDS is doing it for team variety but some of these are silly. Like why can’t Kyle Tucker play LF? He played it for team USA?! Like why can’t Harper play RF? He played it his whole career and there were talks of him moving back if the Phillies signed Pete Alonso. Like it would be nice to have some guys on the bench that cover a few positions for pinch hits and defensive changes.

Oh and why can’t Tatis play his old position and why can’t Correa play 3B (he did for team Puerto Rico)?
-
Team variety, now you have to give actual thought to your bench
I like it better this way... Prioritize bats or gloves for late

@ref479ode_PSN I don’t hate it, but it just seems that simple logic of positions people can play are gone. That’s all I care about, corner OFs playing corner OF and up the middle guys playing up the middle type of stuff. That’s what made some guys also valuable tho too.

I agree. I think this was over correction on SDS’s part. It got silly when guys like Jorge Posada had a 2B secondary despite never playing there beyond single-A (possibly the same goes for Tim Raines? Not sure if he ever appeared at 2B in the MLB either). I’m glad they cleaned up that kind of thing. Now the pendulum has swung too far the other way. It’s crazy that Bryce Harper doesn’t have RF as a secondary, for example.

The made a point in the content stream that cards will only include a secondary position if the player played there during that season. I'm sure that impacts live series as they mention that about Bergman's card as they were sure if he end up at 2B so that's why is live and NT cards has a secondary.
It makes so much more sense this way. For example Harper hasn't played a game in the outfield since July 2023, well there maybe have been talk he could go back fact is he is a first baseman ONLY now

because that is their position on the depth chart this year. Tatis is a RF, he will not move. So does Correa.
Both will get more positions in their other versions they will receive this year. But LS is LS.Bellinger is considered as a CF, LF, 1B. That is where the Yankees will play him. Therefore he has all those positions (and not RF).
You can play Tatis in CF/LF, you will get a penalty for doing that, but it works. I would not play Tatis as SS tho
