With the addition of ambush hitting, nobody can directionally bunt any more

On timing hitting you can't choose a direction to bunt. Unless I'm missing something in the options menu.

No, as/after pressing triangle, aim LS left or right. The first time I tried to drop a bunt, a tutorial popped up.
